How often do you clean your ears?

It's actually bad for your health to do anything other than clean the outer part with a tissue or something.

Sticking things in your ear is a no-no, but I still do it, probably about once every month.

i only do it when i feel like i have to. every now and then my ear will feel wierd, and i'll stick a q-tip in, and this big waxy chunky thing will come out. it doesn't happen that often, but it happens and it's gross, yet at the same time very relieving when it does. i think what happens is, i get lint on my pillow, then i sleep in a wierd way and i somehow force the lint into my ear. then it stays there and gets waxy and gross until i tip it

Funny this should come up. I was recently told that as effective as Q-tips are, they really do nothing but pack the wax in down farther in your ear. I was told to let the hot soapy water run down into your ear canal while you are taking a shower and then rinse it all out and the wax should break up and come right out.


I think I like my Q-tips better.

I'm afraid of packing the wax down with a qtip. I did those ear candles once. a waxy cone that you put in your ear and light on fire, then it sucks out the wax. it's cah-razy! and I don't wash my hair every day! oh no!

I had an ear infection last week, had anti biotics and it is ok now but still blocked. Having my ears syringed tomorrow by the nurse...if anyone has never had this done I would recommend it. It is one of the best feelings ever as they squirt warm water down your ear canal, all this alien looking goo comes running out and hey presto you can hear perfect again. It is like wearing glasses for the first time when you have had bad eyesight for a good while...trust me, it is (maybe) better than sex!
