I have to go to the hospital all by myself tomorrow because this pain is unbearable. Oh, and no insurance. Yeah.

It started last week with a burning toward the end of peeing. Not-so-much a frequency to void, I've had a UTI before and know what it feels like. This doesn't feel like a UTI. It feels worse.

I got my period the 2nd, the pains went away. The day before yesterday, the pain came back and now the left side of my stomach (right above my hip bone, in the backside too) aches, pulls, burns.. Almost like a muscle spasm.

So, who wants to play doctor? Is this my appendix? (Can't remember which side they're on.) Ovaries, maybe?

I'm going to lose my job over this shit too. Called off 3 days in a row. (n)

could be a bladder infection or something.

ok, ways to check if it's your appendix - see if you can bend over and touch your toes. if you can't, it might be your appendix
also, press your stomach in little bit, and then release. if the release hurts more than the pushing, than it might be your appendix.

My guess is a bladder infection as well. My dad had similar symptoms...burning sensations when peeing, abdominal cramps/pains.

You shouldn't worry about your job, it's protected by law. Most places have short-term disability which you will recieve after 5 days off from a medical emergency.

Your employer is required by law to give you up to 12 weeks time per year, unpaid of course, to attend to any medical emergency that you or a family member may suffer without the threat of losing your position or your seniority. When you are able to return to work they must offer you your job, or an equal job. It's called the FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act), and you can thank Bill Clinton for it.

P.S. It bothers me when someone gets ill and they have to worry about how it will affect their job. Worring about your health and getting well are stressfull enough by itself, you shouldn't have to be concerned if you're going to have a job too. Hope all is ok and good luck.

I'm semi-familiar with FMLA. My mother's previous employment had a union and she too had medical problems. So, FMLA was always brought up.

As for my job, I work at some dinky, family-owned restaurant. I know women who are pregnant get the time off, but... Recently, my employer's been a dick toward me and I think they're looking for a reason to fire my ass -- sick or not. I'll have the medical documentation, which I'll be using to back myself. Otherwise, yeah, dunno.

Well whatever it is, it sounds really serious and you probably shouldn't wait til tomorrow to go to the doctor.

I’m not trying to be a dick so don’t take this wrong but if you’re sexually active or have been in the past it could be Chlamydia or gonorrhea.

good stuff that is...

I'm off work for a while right now due to some health issue. although I've been through the docs and surgery too. I'm bored at home healing right now, and reading much of the board I haven't before. I could die from this but I really don't feel like I'm going to.. It's easy to think that it'll slide and you'll be "okay" but in some cases there's slide. I've decided to wait until I've got my results back before telling too many people in my circle. I just don't feel like this is my time yet. Maybe 20 more years but I don't hear the buddhas calling me yet.

I had these symptoms not too long ago. I couldnt move, or sleep, due to the pain in my abdomen and I had to pee every 5 minutes and it hurt like hell.
It turned out to be 'just' a bladder infection. They'll give you some antibiotics and you'll be rid of it in a couple of days.
The hurting in your abdomen is apperently your kidneys. I've been told that if you don't do anything about it your kidney could get so infected it bursts. But you have to be in a very far state for that to happen.

Could it be IBS?
