Good strategy -- spend a lot of money on something that will break if you smoke. (y)

just imagine them as tiny weiners. that way, every time you ache to put one in your lips you're a little repulsed. seriously. from now on you'll never pick up a cig without imagining a little foreskin on it.

I've been trying to quit for the past few months. a lot of it having to do with the price going up to about $7 a pack. However, in the last two weeks, I've gotten 4 free packs of smokes somehow or another, so the battle continues.

I'm on my last pack now though. it shall be my last EVER! sure.

SEVEN BUCKS A PACK!?

Whoa.

Here, it's $3.50 - $5 per pack.

yeah, they just tacked on a shit ton of taxes recently. Illinois really doesn't want anyone to smoke.

I guess not.

Man, when I lived in Kentucky, cigarettes were dirt cheap.

Costa Rica, too. A good pack of smokes was $1.50. Made by Phillip Morris, of course.

My mother had a petition to take $3 on to each pack sold in CA to help pay for healthcare costs. It's coming.

...one of those workers spoke with me the other day, actually. If that's the same petition.

Yeah -- I don't have any real problem with an increased tax on cigarettes, but that's too much. I have a BIG problem with smokers' insurance rates being even in the same ballpark as non-smokers. That's not right, because smoking just drags the whole body down -- lungs, blood, teeth, skin, you name it. Smokers (and any other patients who show signs of addiction -- including real obesity) should have much higher rates and co-pays than non-smokers, and employers shouldn't have to pick up the difference.
