...I'm pretty amazed by how many people are bumping really crappy sounding bass speakers in their cars. When I was young, if you took pride in your car stereo, you were going for as clean-as-possible sound with no distortion. You'd probably have a kicker in your car trunk or something, but the point was to get as loud as you could with NO DISTORTION.
What's up with these pinheads cranking up bass speakers that sound like they've already ripped? It's kind of the equivalent of showing off your three-inches-of-throbbing-steel penis, frankly. I don't get it.

Although you standing outside the car, you wouldn't hear it to how it's supposed to sound. So maybe they're not that bad.
...I'm sorry: I'm referring to people who have their windows down, driving around with really shitty systems cranked up to impress people.

The cost of a good car stereo is sometimes prohibitive whereas some homemade box with 6X9 pioneers and a kicker amp might be more affordable. Of course, is it worse to have distorted sound or a $10K system in a $2K car?
Stock stereos in cars are more difficult to remove, nowadays, too. The acoustics are tuned for that particular wattage, etc.

Where I live it's illegal to have your bass up, because people were doing it so much. Cops are even giving tickets for it now. : /

That's fair, I think. It's definitely pollution.
Now they just need to make cell phones illegal while in autos. Period. Emergency calls only, across the board. (y)
