I've not tried one myself, but everyone else that has them in their cars that I speak to really seems to enjoy them. I know my sister recently bought a GMC and it came with a free month (or maybe it was year?) of XM and she said she's definitely going to keep it going once it expires.

Try it for a bit, what the hell have you got to lose?

Sirius is the best thing ever! I got originally bought it because I'm a Howard Stern fan. I have not listened to regular radio since I've gotten it.

Whatever you're into...it's there. Easily the best $12/month I have spent.

I have a neighbor that has XM and loves it, too.

I guess you can compare it as going from antenna TV to either cable or dish. Whichever you choose, you'll love it.

One cool feature...kinda like a DVR, is that you can rewind and pause live radio. You don't realize how cool this is until you actually have it.

Hah, that was just stupid. Unless there is sex sound stations and massive uncontrolled cussin' , I wouldn't bother with it.

Yeah...the Playboy station is pretty sexed up. And they have Raw Dog, which is the comedy station...which is pretty raw. If that's what you're into.

I like Backspin...the old school hip hop station. The 80s channel can be pretty entertaining, too. They also have an all-Elvis and all-Bruce Springsteen channel.

I think thats only with certain receivers.

I know that with mine I can save songs and what not, and do the whole TiVo thing with it....but other players don't either one of those functions.

Finding other cool music that you might not have and regular radio might not play.

I originally got it for Howard Stern, but have quickly become a fan of Raw Dog, Playboy radio, Backspin, 80s channel, plus they have some good talk radio shows. It all depends what you're into...and what you might like.

And as far as the receivers question...I think there are several different receivers with different features. The technology is changing all the time and just getting better with the type of shit they'll offer.

more than one XM receiver has the "DVR" like capabilities, i know the skyfi 2 has it.

xm units are less bulky that siruis, better mobile units too.

content wise, i think XM plays alot more (they just added 10 more channels), but sirius's playlist repeats itself. At least when it played at the circuit city i worked at.

As for the bit rate, it is better than FM and AM but not CD quality. It's still analog radio but at a higher bit rate i believe. Plus in major cities you are listening to what is bounced off of repeaters and not the actual satellite itself.
