Now, I'm not saying it's better than your favourite album, or that you suck for not liking it, but this is a nice, nice album. Since 2000 I have listened to this album at least weekly.

Naturally, anything with Big L on would be a winner for me. His rhyme in 'Thick'(one of Premo's finets, IMO) "Haters E-N-V-Y me, B-I-G cause I'm V-I-P till I D-I-E" had me rolling when I first heard it. That dude's flow was sick. Lyrically the whole thing is on point, barring one or two verses from Fat Joe (hate him.).

The clincher for me was finally having a copy of 'Day One' that hadn't been taped from the local hip-hop radio show. That cut is possibly the finest posse track since 'Protect ya Neck'. The beat is too nice; it's amazing to this day.

Finnesse's production on 'Hey Luv' is one of my favourites on here, with the resident DITC producers (Buckwild, Showbiz, Diamond D and Lord Finesse) all shining at various points. The guest production by Ahmed and Dj Premier is such a nice bonus. Ahmed's beat on 'Tribute' (recorded by Finnesse and O.C after L's death.) is moody and reflective, a perfect ending for the record.

It's loony that this crew had such exceptional beatmakers alongside incredible M.C's(barring Fat Joe), and although everybody in the crew may have reached higher heights in their indvidual careers, together they made this an incredible album. Guest apprearances from KRS and Big Pun don't hurt the thing, either.

Good times. If you like Gangstarr, Wu-tang, just good hip-hop, get it. It's a classic, for sure.(y)
