I've also heard some people saying they suck but I really don't know why. People do have their own opinions.

I think they've been around long enough to break free from the "new rock" catagory.

One reason I like them is because there's no band around that sounds like them. They've got their own original approach to music.

The guitaring is very well too, they do realize that there's more to being a guitarist than just powercords.

I'll admit, from what I've heard, System Of A Down had, like, one or two songs that caught my attention. It's the people associated with them I truly dislike.

It's been a few months since I've listened to them, but from what I recall, the music did nothing for me--there was nothing evocative about it as music or them as performers.

In their performances, they always seem to be trying hard. I can't quite put my finger on it because they didn't interest me enough to even try to figure that out beyond just recognizing that something seemed forced or off about them.

People don't like them anymore cuz they're big now. Come on, Kid, you should know this. People love it when they're down with a band before the masses get ahold of them. Then corporate suits grab the cash cow, shove them down our throats until you see thousands of 12 year olds everywhere sporting their shirts with Jnco jeans and you lose the feeling of being unique or special from knowing this band and from that discomfort, ultimately lose interest in the band to look for the new hot shit.

I can't quite nail it, there is something I don't like about them. It's a Beavis & Butthead sort of thing, all of SOAD's musicians are very talented, they play fast and really treat their fans right....but if your not willing to invest in the whole package of SOAD, it takes alot of effort to try and sort through the whole package.

I'm too lazy to be a SOAD fan.

their first album rocked my socks off. they slowly got worse after that. its the guitarists whiny voice and he has seemed to take over the whole band, and the songs that are just written by him completely suck ass. the guitarist whatever his name is has ruined the band.
