even though its a little short, i still like it alot, cee-lo sounds great and the beats (by dangermouse) compliment his singing. there are alot of creative songs on this album

my favorite songs at the moment include
crazy (the smash single)
just a thought (sounds like a dj shadow joint)
transformer (lots of energy in this one)

but overall the album is very strong and consistent from start to finish

finally i found this video on youtube of this dude mashing the beasties 'check it out' with 'crazy' on his turntables

the whole Danger Mouse + whoever thing is a tad 'meh' for me.

DangerDoom got old. fast.

I haven't had a listen to the album just yet, but I love Cee-Lo, he shined in The Goodie Mob (one of my favorite rap groups ever) and he's a very creative dude. I became a fan of Danger Mouse from listening to the DangerDoom album, so Gnarls looks to be excellent...

I just got it. The title track is my favourite. I was really primed for disappointment, too.

edit: Triple J had been playing 'Just a Thought' for the last few months, but never said what it was called. It's an amazing track.

I've been listening to this gnarls barkley stuff the past month, it seems to be everywhere I go either on the net or here in Seattle. I don't quite get it. I'll probably keep listening politely until it passes by and never actually buy it.

I mean whats next? gnarl malone?

I'm loving Feng-Shui. The beat is like an 808 mash-up of whatever break turns up in Professor Booty. Somebody with break expertise?

Just seen a really good version of Crazy on Top of the Pops - everyone dressed as pilots. The tune was all stripped down with elec piano and drum fills and that just left cee-lo to belt it out - loads better than the single version

Yeah it's wicked.

St. Elsewhere was the track that I really dug first time round. It's moved into being Feng Shui ( you must hear a small piece of Professor Booty in the beat) and Who Cares as my favourite shit atm.

And I could go on and on and on.....

There is one average track (Gone Daddy Gone) on there, but when it crops up in the play-through of the disc, it's not so terrible. That's the benefit of it being short; it really works well as a complete album. From turning on the projector, to the film running out at the end.

for some reason 'crazy' reminds of something moby would've made about 5 years ago.

Ally Al

bad news, only managed to download a couple. the rest stalled during downloading for some reason. i tried to start the downloads again and they've stalled again, so i don't know what to do

if you let me know which ones were ok i'll upload the others again on yousendit, it's a lot easier to use

Ally Al

just checked properly and i only managed to get Put Your Glide In Your Stride And Dip In Your Hip.

ok seeing as it's you, i'll sort the rest out BUT outside of the funk comps did earth sounds and synthesized soul work ok ? They were both yousendit links

possible 2nd single, what do you reckon ?

According to Gnarls MySpace page, "Smiley Faces" will be the next single. Not my favorite track, but it's still good.

"Crazy", Boogie Monster", "Transformers", "Storm Comin" are my favorite tracks on the disc. Overall, good album, I was pleasantly surprised.

The only cd I've ever just given away after one listen. I don't care if it would grow on me, I was just ashamed to even have it at the time. Like my Kriss Kross album.
