Americans’ held in marijuana bust
KUWAIT CITY: Hawally securitymen have arrested three alleged US soldiers for selling marijuana in Mahboula, say security sources. They did not, however, say when the arrests had been made. Lieutenant Colonel Debbie Haston-Hilger, spokesperson for the Third US Army, however, told the Arab Times the arrested persons were definitely not US soldiers. Acting on information that a US ‘soldier’ was selling drugs in Mahboula, the Director of Hawally Security Directorate gave instructions to keep the suspect under surveillance.
When their investigation showed the suspect had two other accomplices, securitymen raided their apartment after obtaining necessary permission from the Public Prosecution and seized three kilos of marijuana. During interrogation all the three suspects confessed to the crime and admitted they used to bring the contraband through the postal service of US army. All of them have been referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.

...and to think, when I very first moved there a while back, they had a pic of a young Bangledeshi man being lynched on the front cover of the Arab times just because he sold one kilo. The fact that these guys are American spares them of that but I don't imagine the punishment back in the states being very lenient.
