Has anybody here tried it, or do you still use it?
I used it a few times when I was younger. It made me hyper aggressive (I'm usually quite placid), and I would get thrown out of nightclubs for chucking glasses at people among other things.
This was after I just left New Zealand. What saddens me is how the drug has infiltrated New Zealand's population so quickly. It was a big deal for us to have some of the shit in 2001, now kids are getting it at school. In subarban N.Z.!
Pardon my ignorance, but out of curiosity is this shit problematic in other parts of the world? Or is it just picking it's way through a small 'trial' population? New Zealand had eftpos before everybody else, you know.
A girl in my family is a junkie (recovering, kind of), and it seems in my mind that the 'Dirty' drug adddicts like her may be becoming a thing of the past; thanks to phenomena like this.

It would be a fuckin scary thing to be an addict. It makes you hyper-sexual; people who O.D are wheeled into hospitals masturabting and biting through their lips.
I'm glad all I did was dabble, too. Do you know anyone who got hooked?
college roommate. that's where i got it from. my other roomies and i stopped usin when we realized he was in pretty deep. we helped him clean up, but it was too late to save his college career.

Tatum and Gareth might be able to shed more light (I haven't lived there in 7 years), but where I'm from in the south, I couldn't imagine it happening to epidemic proportions. Where Gareth is from, probably.

250 dollar investment could potentially net you 3000 bucks...but the labs are highly volatile and serious fire hazards. I just saw an old elementary acquaintance on the bus a week ago. Pale and pasty skin pockmarked with red sores. Skin and bones. She was all spaced out and frankly looked like she was on deaths door. I was so alarmed at the revelation I knew her that I couldn't say anything to her.
You don't want to start experimenting with meth man. It'll destroy your fucking life. I don't have to try it to know that much.

we have trailers with meth labs in them here in the woods. they have busted too many to count. its sad. although, i live in a town of 2000 and i dont know anyone who uses it.

they got a cop to come in to my class last yer to teach us about how horrible it is. They showed us pictures of an addict. She was a pretty lady, but as each year went on you could see the soul being sucked out of her. We were told that an addict typically has 7 years to live.

Yeah, they had this writeup in the paper a few months ago about the 'meth epidemic' sweeping canada. I think they might be blowing the whole problem out of proportion. Then again they might not be.
There were a bunch of those before-and-after shots in the article which floored me. The changes were quite staggering. In each case the 'after' pictures were anywhere from 2 to 5 years later. Hollowed out shells staring blankly into the camera. Nobody home. I found out later that the sores which seem so common in meth addicts are the result of the constant scratching of their skin trying to address non-existant cuts/blisters/scabs/whatever. Over time these sores develop on the skin much like a blister might develop on your toe when trying to break in new shoes.
Some of the accounts I read about theses addicts were really quite sad. In many cases they would get hooked on meth and just disappear. Over time any furnishings and personal possesions are sold off for drug money as holding a job with an addiction like that must have been next to impossible. Family, friends..relationships just fall to the wayside as the hunger for that next fix encompasses their entire lives.
I can't picture living life like that. It's scary as hell to me.

A couple of my friends have tried it. They seem to have been able to hold it together. Haven't gotten addicted. That isn't to say they won't. MEssy stuff. Its a big problem around here (Seattle).

I spent about a year partying with crystal from 92 - 93. I don't know about the scene today, but back then it was pretty easy to get. A friend of mine from the time dropped off the face of the earth about 10 years ago. I wonder if he's still alive.

the only association i've had with it was at a mate's party, NO i didn't take it.
some cunt who we didn't expect to be on it, was on it. and he was asking him to help him to the toilet. he was drunk and on it; falling all over the floor; vomitting brown shit etc etc... he cut his hand open and when i threw him in the toilet (literally - i didnt like him at the time) a lil baggie of crystal meth hit the deck, he had already passed out in the loo so i grabbed on the bag so i dispose of it ASAP, i ended up forgettin about it till the next morning, woke up, totally hungover and forgot of what i did... put my hand into my pocket to grab this bag... i ran outside and threw it in one of those side-of-the-road rain drains...

I've had my share of it. I was strung on either coke or meth, depending on which was easier for me to get my hands on during that time.
I was on it for two years and was very miserable. I've talked about it before but it's the reason why I joined the army- to get away from it and luckily for me, the withdrawl only lasted for a week during basic training. It was a fucking rough week though, drill sergeants down my throat, cold sweats and I puked in formation twice.
I did some at a party in 02 without even knowing it because I was blacked out drunk.
Just like DIGI though, I'll just stick to my buds for my duration.

We had barely heard of it twelve years ago when I was part of a big criminal drug detection program. Now, no matter where I go to court in rural Minnesota, there are lots of meth cases on the court's calendar while I'm waiting for my case to be called. It's the worst thing I've seen and the small towns are overwhelmed. It's worse than the crack epidemic that hit our inner city in the 80s.
I recently watched this report on Frontline (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/meth/). It implies that the problem could have been stopped years ago, when it was just a problem on the west coast, except that drug companies and their lobbyists refused to cooperate.

a few years ago it was much easier to get speed, and meth was something extra special ud get once ina while. then speed seemed to disapear and meth replaced it as the norm. now however, its ice. (smokable meth). ice has exploded in adelaide in the past year. ive tried it a couple of times, its easy to see why ppl get addicted.

ive never ever tried an illegal drug before. It was never appealing to me. I just think its weird when you have to hide/sneak around just to get something.
I know this is on a much smaller scale, but i was hooked on ephedrine for at least 3 years. I'm so glad I never got into illegal drugs because I would probably still be hooked today.
ive also limited my alcohol consumption down to the weekends and at baseball games(y) (y)

that guy actually got pepper sprayed in the eyes. i missed it. but story is; he went upto the guy with pepper spray (unaware of it though), started on him because he thought pepper-spray dude was dissing his phone?! so he started shoving him, still with vomit and blood down his shirt, and the other dude just pepper-sprayed him.

the mental picture i got from this was hillarious.
I actually tried it for the first time ever a while back, the same day I first tried acid [wich was only one little square of it and did nothing to me just made me ecstatic for a short while] but yeah, my friends brother is a raver and sells drugs and we found it in his room.. it felt gross and greasy when i touched it, we smoked like.. one bowl i think, i remember like nothing...i remember debating for hours just to see if we should leave and ask her dad's girlfriend for a boot, but we couldn't make up our minds and ended up getting very very tense [emotionaly and through the body muscles.] ...we started beating eachother up at one point.. but not that harsh, we were laughing through the whole time but not holding back strenght. whenever i took a hit from the pipe it felt all greasy and warm and made my lips feel like an oysters, my bestfriend litterly thought she was king kong and was really convinced i was the little blonde girl and was threatening to jump on me [she was standing on the sofa and i was sitting infront of her on the bed] and she was like freaking out trying to restrain herself, so i had to get a large bottle and i started threatening back at her if she jumped at me i would smash the bottle directly at her face with all my strength. i also remember a wind storm brewing outside, and it felt like the drug was trying to take over our minds.. like an addiction, because when we were trying to figure out if we should save some for the next day and just to see what it would be like to go places on it [since it was night and we were stuck in the her brothers room]...we couldnt say how bad that would be though, it was so hard to actually explain our opinons of the bad side of that idea.. i was trying so hard to tell them that if we did then we would be leading it on but my mind was blocked out or something and i couldnt get the words through, it made us all so tense.. i hated it, it's fucked up. and for some odd reason it made me burp a lot, you could even hear my intestines moving around or maybe i was just imaginng it.. but i could sure feel it. it also made our throats feel like we had to cough something up.. it felt like the back of our throat was numb and greasy and something was gripping onto it [not hard, but with pressure.]
at the time though, it made perfect sense why some people downtown always act like robots or wobble when they walk/talk to themself and do "absurd" things...usualy if i saw someone like that i'd laugh and know there on a drug but never really understand what there thinking as of what they are doing, but when i tried that shit it made perfect sense.

Over the weekend a skinny girl walked up to me and my wife asking for $2. She was only about 17 and was wearing dirty white slippers. She was shaking and she was missing teeth. Her remaining teeth were brown.
I did not have cash and was finishing a cigarette. She asked for 1 and my pack was back at the car. I said I did not have anymore and she begged for the cig I was smoking. I gave it to her and she wandered off.
I thought to myself that she had to be a Meth addict althought I am sure. She would smoke her dirty white slippers if they got her high.
It was sad.
I hear that Meth is a big problem here in the Panhandle of Texas.

That's where most meth labs are, out in the woods somewhere. I would always notice that when I watched Cops. Everytime they busted a meth lab it was always in the fucking middle of nowhere. I never knew why until a friend of mine (who has tried meth once) told me that the chemicals that go into the meth stink like all hell. I mean absolutely horrendous. It would attract too much attention if it was in a highly populated area although back in 2002 a meth lab was busted in a small, quaint inn-like hotel in the Lakeview neighborhood here in Chicago. I don't know how they got away with it for as long as they did.

You do know someone who uses meth you just don't know that they use it. We all would walk around a constant state of shock if we knew all the shit that we don't know about the people we know, if that makes any sense.

The point is, drugs fucked everything up. That's why I stopped going out. People would be talking about the drugs they were taking, the drugs other people were taking, the drugs they can get, the drugs other people can get, the drugs other people take that they can get....So on and so forth.
It seems that the drug culture in Perth is huge. People might wind up with holes in their brains at age 50. They don't care. Alcohol included, we're all about self-medicating and hiding from how shit our lives are, it seems.
It's not my place, but it pisses me off. I'm sick of hypocrites with their high standards of social graces, filling themselves up with shit, and still able to look down on people. The drug addicts who are in vogue, bah.

I'm glad I'll never have to drag down her, or her friends' good time. To each their own, I'm just aware of the fact that I hate in others what I see in myself. To be reminded of that whole drug culture is the main thing I'd be keen on avoiding.
I doubt this is the case with most folk, but it still seems to me that if you meet people on the weekend, you can define them by the drugs they're on.
No hard feelings, just a difference in taste. I'd say that she wouldn't be keen on watching hardcore pornography, but I get the feeling she is.

most of my good friends don't use drugs (except alcohol). my boyfriend doesn't touch drugs. i smoke pot every day, but i rarely take class a's anymore.

Meth epidemic is huge in the west coast now, they blame all the crime on the "meth crisis" too.... its pretty funny, i think it happens more in smaller-rural towns where people can cook it up. gross. Also oxy is huge over here too, well any pills, vicodin, OC, xanex.... i know a girl with chronic back pain, sells her pills every month for hundreds of dollars, and she has no problem finding customers, thats for sure.
