Go buy Dan Leroy’s 33 1/3 book on Paul’s Boutique
Got my copy in the mail today and could not put it down. It’s an excellent read except he seemed to mix up one of his facts.
James Newton sued the beasties over “pass the mic” not “flute loop” in flute loop the beasties sample the blues project.

^^Haha...I caught that too. I unfortunately have gotten crazy busy and plan to finish it early next week when I'm traveling.

Hey brooklyndust, nice catch! I'm kicking myself over that one...almost like misspelling NATHANIAL Hornblower. My sincere apologies to his nephew and the rest of the family.
But this brings up something I should have said earlier...please, anyone who spots a problem, let me know about it. If we get lucky enough to get into a second printing, I will make sure any mistakes get fixed, and the fixers get thanked!
And thanks also for hyping the book...I'm grateful for every bit of attention it gets, believe me, and I appreciate your buying, reading, and taking the time out to say something nice about it.

Mr Rivington, will the book be offered in chain bookstores such as Books-a-million?

Mr Rivington, will the book be offered in chain bookstores such as Books-a-million?
A great question, and one you'd think I would be able to answer a little better than this.
Here's what I know: I've seen 33.3 books at Barnes and Nobles in bigger cities, and also at Virgin Megastores. I don't think they all stock the series, though, and I'm not sure about Books-A-Million, but I'll definitely try to find out.
In the meantime, this question came up a couple of months ago on the publisher's blog (http://33third.blogspot.com/). Here's the list they gave of stores that carry the books:
Harvard Bookstore, Cambridge MA
Music Millennium, Portland OR
Millennium Music, Charleston SC
Duttons Bookstore, Los Angeles CA
Powells Bookstore, Portland OR
Shakespeare and Co, New York NY
Tattered Cover Bookstore, Denver CO
Shaman Drum, Ann Arbor MI
Sonic Boom Records, Seattle WA
Waterloo Records, Austin TX
St. Marks Bookshop, New York NY
Skylight Books, Los Angeles CA
Coliseum Books, New York NY
Codys Books, Berkeley CA
Carmichaels Bookstore, Louisville KY
Penn Book Center, Philadelphia PA
AC Vroman, Pasadena CA
Spaceboy Music, Philadelphia PA
Nicola's Books Little Professor, Ann Arbor MI
Easy Street Records, Seattle WA
Quimby's, Chicago IL
Bailey Coy Books, Seattle WA
Hot Poop, Walla Walla WA
Desolation Row, Pittsburgh PA
Daddy Kool Records, St Petersburg FL
Cake Shop, New York NY
Atomic Records, Milwaukee WI
Vinyl Fever, Clearwater FL
CD Central, Lexington KY
Gem City Records, Dayton OH
Culture Clash, Toledo OH
Wexner Center Bookshop, Columbus OH
Criminal Records, Atlanta GA
Guapo Comics and Books, Portland, OR
Atomic Books, Baltimore, MD (Buy online (http://www.atomicbooks.com/search.php?prpp=15&tpl=17&catid=73&searchstring=paul%27s+boutique) here)
Trident Bookstore, Boston, MA
Cody's Books, San Francisco, CA
I know a lot of these places are in the usual spots -- NY, Boston, CA, etc. -- so I'm not sure how much this will help everyone.
However, if anyone is having trouble finding the books, or just doesn't want to buy online for whatever reason, PM me and I'll make arrangements to sell you one directly. And thanks again to everyone for all the interest and support.

Excellent work Rivington. I got mine in the mail a couple weeks ago. What was supposed to be a quick sit-down skim-through of "Paul's Boutique" turned into a complete read through in a matter of hours. A truly addictive read. Nice work. And it's convenient size, although it first puzzled me, turned out to be perfect for slipping into my back pocket and bustin' it out on the subway. Hope the critics are bein' nice to ya, they should be...

Hey Bro. McDuff (nice handle BTW!):
Many thanks for buying & reading, and for the kind words! Not to sound like some broken vinyl, but the support is really fantastic and I appreciate it a lot.
Hope the critics are bein' nice to ya, they should be...
So far, not bad. There was a nice review (http://blogcritics.org/archives/2006/04/19/075658.php) of this book and the one on the Pixies' Doolittle (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0826417744/002-8642147-2792067?n=283155) (which I highly recommend; Ben Sisario really turned that record inside out) at blogcritics recently, and although it isn't a review, I also did a "Book Notes" (http://www.largeheartedboy.com/blog/archive/2006/04/_in_his_own_wor.html)at the great blog Largehearted Boy, talking about some of the stuff I was listening to (besides PB!!) while writing the book, if anyone's interested.
