View Full Version : I used to think bisexuality in men was a myth

This last week I found out a friend of mine who I have known for around four years has been "experimenting" with a mutual gay friend of ours. I am really shocked. This guy is the type who will turn around and look at any nicely shaped woman's behind that walks by.
wow...
He also has no idea that I know.

I could care less about who he has sex with.
It's just sort of... well... strange.

I'll bet.
I knew one dude who was bisexual, and him and another dude and these two bisexual girls would get together and have miniature orgies. Said they never knew who to thank afterwards. fnar.

I have some gay male friends who would swear that the guy is question is gay and can't admit it. I don't think I believe that. I think that more and more people are pansexual and it's social conditioning that keeps them from sleeping with same sex partners.

I know a guy who probably should experiment with the other half but who doesn't or if he has, he doesn't talk about it. He flaunts--maybe overly so--the hetero sexual relationships he's had but he does that in a way that sounds canned or prescribed, maybe it's done with a little too much exaggerated masculinity. There's this underlying stereotypically gay-feeling theme in a lot of what he says/does and how he is socially, how he relates to guys v. the way he relates to women and how he relates to women in general. I've known him for awhile and although we talk about a lot of stuff, that topic feels off limits. I don't raise it with him.

I have often been sure someone was gay and tried hard to send out signals that it's okay with me. I've done it to such an extent that I look foolish. It's so silly and awkward.

Your friends are probably right. I think there's a handle of men who will sleep with anyone, regardless of gender, even if they don't find other men attractive. They're just man-whores who found someone who'll do whatever they want. I dated a guy like that in high school, didn't want to date guys, but would fuck ANYONE who'd let him put it in them. I didn't sleep with him, and neither did any of my female friend who dated him, so he got it from the one person he knew would so it: a mutual gay friend. I don't think guys who claim to be bisexual and genuinely like guys really swing both ways.
Then you've got the sort of wishy-wasy psuedo bisexuality that guys like Jake Gyllenhaal have. That whole "I've never been attracted to a guy, but if I was it wouldn't be a big deal" bs.
Could be wrong though. I'm not a bisexual man, so it's a bit presumtuous of me to assume I know how they think.

word on the street is Kirk Hammett is bi - but he does have a wife so doesn't that just cancel him out of being bi? he's married the person he loves.. and it happens to be a female.
i remember Matt (s/name: Matt) telling me that, then i read some posts on the metallica board saying the same - the hardcore fans: "OH FUCK OFF KIRK ISNT A FAG! HE ROCKS! HE'S THE BEST GUITARIST EVER!"

No, not if you take the view that your sexuality is more about who you are than what you do. A person may be in a monogamous relationship with one other person, but that doesn't mean they stop finding other people of either gender sexually attractive, even though they aren't going to act on it.

dude, that's what the term bisexual means. do you understand that?
I understand but dont agree. I think the term should be general. Like: "he's gay but he likes girls too" or "she's gay but she likes guys too"
why not, "he's straight but likes men, too?"
gay men don't like women
straight men don't like men
if you're one or the other than you're neither, that's why the word "bisexual" exists

When girls kiss, guys buy them drinks.

Cause then you corrupt the term straight. You see, straight ones never have gay relations. But gays could have a straight relation.

You really could use a dictionary. Because it's telling you that bisexuality DOES exist...
bi·sex·u·al Audio pronunciation of "bisexual" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (b-sksh-l)
adj.
1. Of or relating to both sexes.
2.
1. Having both male and female reproductive organs; hermaphroditic.
2. Botany. Denoting a single flower that contains functional staminate and pistillate structures; perfect.
3. Of, relating to, or having a sexual orientation to persons of either sex.
Cause then you corrupt the term straight. You see, straight ones never have gay relations. But gays could have a straight relation.
Straights that once had a gay relation = gays
Gay that once had a straight relation = gays
that really doesn't make any sense. how is having heterosexual relations not "corrupting" the term gay? gay people are only attracted to the same sex. if you're attracted to the opposite sex as well, how are you homosexual?
cosmo105
04-20-2006, 12:23 PM
"gays" that once had straight relations just means that they were experimenting or hadn't realized yet that they were homosexual. if they're gay...that means they WON'T be having heterosexual relations anymore. if they're bisexual, well, anything goes. isn't that right, bob? ;)

i don't know what you're trying to imply here. i'm actually asexual. not in the "lacks determinate sexual organs" sense, or the "reproduces via binary fission sense" but the one where you're a virgin forever
