Did they ever meet each other?? Or did the beasties like House of pain??Cause I know Adrock had a House of Pain sticker in his guitar. I think in the video of Gratitude - live (Sabotage home video and DVD Anthology) you can see it

Horovitz' guitar has a House of Pain sticker on it in the Gratitude (live one) video, and in the live shots on the Sabotage VHS.

I want to see this picture of The Beastie Boys chilling with Cypress Hill and House Of Pain.

Also, in the Beastie Boys Criterion DVD, Yauch mentions that Danny Boy from House Of Pain was at the concert the Beasties did when they shot the footage for the "Shadrach" music video.

Sweet. I wonder how Danny Boy even knew about the concert? He must have been a BIG fan!

I wonder what other songs the beasties did that night. When Yauch was on here i believe he said they performed only 5 or 6 songs..?

I believe they only performed songs from Paul's Boutique because they refused to do anything from Licensed To Ill.

I saw House of Pain at Rider University for the Spring Fling back in the day and had the opportunity to chill with Everlast and crew after the show. The Divine Styler, who was a part of their entourage, told me that the Beasties were on another level than House of Pain when I asked him if they were cool with each other while discussing hip hop. He also said that DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill thought that he was the lord of hip hop and only cared about making money. HOP and Cypress were fueding at the time. Everlast was cool as hell, but Danny Boy seemed to be a crackhead. The respect for the Beasties was there.

But remember the Slow and Low live at Skills to Pay the Bills??
When it ends Shake Your Rump starts. I know its not the same show but at least i think its the same period.

They performed at many venues, but not together.

House of Pain drop off the tour with the Beastie's and Cypress after they wanted more stage time. There's an MTV interview were Everlast says they had no problem with Adrock and MCA "but the other guy"... Everlast goes on to say that house of pain was drawing more fans to the concerts then the beasties and they shouldn't be thrid on the bill. Back then, jump around was really popular, more then pass the mic and so whatcha want, but still.

Damn, that's messed up. Although it's not like it's a scientific fact that House Of Pain drew more fans to the shows than the Beastie Boys.

I went to the '92 show in Marin, worst Beastie show of my life b/c I got in after HOP, got myself kicked out during L7 (I remember people were somehow sneaking in view the roof, hung down from the rafters on a rope or something, when security saw them, they jumped into the roaring crowd), had to watch the Beasties through a barely open door where I and others contemplated rushing the door to get back inside, but the shrooms prevented that.

back in the day. i really liked everlast's - whitey ford. people dissed him and gave him shit for it, but you could play it front to back, and the message was great.

i don't care what people think, he's a great rapper.

I agree. I like his lyrics and references on his songs.
