my eczema is back... goddamn this shit itches and burns!! it's only been on my right arm on the side of my elbow... when it's dry, it feels like lizard skin... rough and scaly... it's driving me crazy!!!

awhile back i noticed it growing on my legs on the side of my knee near the back of my leg...

my eczema disappeared for awhile but yesterday it popped up again to say "hello, and go fuck yourself!!" i've been really stressed out lately and i bet that what triggered my outbreak...it's like getting the hives except with scaly patches, not smooth. i wonder if it's something i ate??

at least it hasn't moved near my ass!! cuz that would just be wrong...so very wrong:( :p i don't want a scaly butt!!:(

Are your elbows ashy, too?

There was a boy I went to school with and his elbows were beyond ashy. They looked like Rhino skin.

try giving up dairy for a few days and see if it clears up. dairy allergies are among the most common causes of eczema.

vaseline is horrible. it suffocates your skin.

vaseline says it softens dry skin, helps prevents diaper rash, soothes chapped skin/lips, minor scrapes and minor burns(y)

it actually helps lubricate my skin... i should try putting it in my hair... i bet it would work better than hair gel!!;)

i've always drank a lot of milk, it doesn't bother me...i have been eating a lot of italian with tomato sauce... it could be that

Vaseline does nothing for eczema. Hydrocortisone cream, however, works wonders! If it's available to you I'd use that. Use it sparingly mind you, it's pretty heavy.

have you changed laudry detergent or soaps or anything like that recently? that could cause it. and on the note of soaps, ben has terrible excema, he gets it on his upper arms, back and thighs. he swears it doesnt hurt or itch but i dont see how it coudnt. he's had it pretty much since forever so i guess he's used to it. he uses dove and says it helps, i forget what kind he uses, but it comes it has blue on the box. i have some dove body wash in a bottle with a pink top that is very good as far as moisturizing goes, it comes out more like a cream than a regular body wash. its also the best thing ive ever used to shave, haha. you could try something like that, or even cut back on using soap, at least on the bad parts. i promise you wont stink if you avoid washing with soap on that leg.

Pretty much. On humans, it's really only good for one thing. And you could argue that olive oil is even better.

yeah, i heard it could be my laundry detergent...i remember one time i used irish spring soap and broke out in an all body rash...the skin even started to peal!! i know that i'm allergic to certain deordorants... i should check it out... but it's the cheapest brand of detergent i can afford.

i also bathe with dove moisturizing soap... it works pretty good, but not good enough. i should limit my shower use since i take a shower 2x's a day... i should take one only at night instead of the morning to help preserve my skins natural oils

thanks for the advice everybody!!:D

At least you know what it is you have.

My ex had eczema only she didn't know what the fuck it was at the time. She goes to a doctor, not a dermatologist, but a regualr everday doctor. This dumbfuck tells her she has herpes. I come home from work one day and I walk in the door and she is hysterical. I mean she is actually losing her mind, literally. This went on for two days until she went to two other doctors who both identified her condition as eczema plus a negative reading on a herpes test (for both of us).

I wanted to go to the first doctor and break his fucking legs. I seriously thought about lawsuit. Fucking moron.

I don't think you can sue a doctor for diagnosing your ex was a whore.

I'm sorry.

of course it SAYS it does that shit. they want you to buy it! christ. it suffocates your skin. it leaves a layer of sludge on it. go ahead, try putting it in your hair. then try washing it out.

i'll give you a few weeks.

THAT'S WHAT IT DOES ON YOUR SKIN. it doesn't penetrate or moisturize. it sits there!! christ!!

maybe the reason you have eczema is because you drink a lot of milk?

listen, kid, really listen. my brother had eczema, and drank milk for years. it would come and go from time to time. a dermatologist finally suggested that he give up dairy for a few days and see if it helped. he went cold turkey, and, amazing, it went away. i work as a naturopathic doctor's assistant and have people with eczema come to me all the time asking for help. in all my research, food allergies are the biggest cause of it, with dairy being at the top of the list. and i've had many, many grateful parents come to me with thanks for finding the cause of their children's eczema after i suggested they give up dairy.

JUST TRY IT. if you're not going to listen to advice, then don't ask for it.

Ummm, I, uhhhh, I actually did that once.:o

I was about fourteen and trying to figure out what I was gonna be for Halloween. I decided on Dracula. I needed something to slick my hair back. The only thing we had in the house that seemed that would do the trick was Vaseline. I slapped a huge load of that goop in my hair and combed it back.

"Perfect. This should do the trick.", I thought as I checked myself out in the bathroom mirror. Time to clean myself up. Do you know it took me over two hours to get the majority of that shit out of my hair. The rest came out over time. No exaggeration.

What a fucking mess that was.

i guess that's why it's called petroleum jelly cuz it stays in your hair like petroleum oil... i always think of that exxon-valdez spill and all those poor birds... if you smell petroleum jelly and crude oil... they have a similiar smell(!)

That makes perfect sense now but when you're fourteen all you're thinking is, "Man, I'm gonna be the best fucking Dracula this Haloween!!! WE ARE GONNA HAVE SOME FUCKING FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNN!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

not

"Gee, I ponder the extent of the potential damage, if any at all, this stuff will do to my hair follicles if I place a generous amount atop my cranium?"

Ya' feel me?:D
