Well, either suggestions or opinons would do.
Here's the situation. I've been working 7 days and 13 hours per dayfor a month due to the fact that we were short handed in our shop because one of the guys has completed his contract and has went home.
Because of that, it's been only 2 people running the shop rather than the required 3 people so, it prevented us from taking normal days off.
We now are back to normal manning as required for night shift but since we are at that point of proper manning, my boss hasn't told me if I can take my normal scheduled days off.
He's already told one of the guys here that he can't take his days off because he's the only guy in his office that has access to the computer to do the functions of that office but, he hasn't told me anything and here it is, Thursday, my usual day off per the schedule that he's made.
My point being is that I work under him and he's the boss and I shouldn't have any doubts as to completing the mission as scheduled, especially since we're currently at the minimal manpower as posted to complete our mission.
Right now I'm debating whether to call him to make sure if I should come in or wait for him to call me and I know he won't because believe me, it's happened before.
This same guy, when he knows my days off are Thursday and Friday, will come in on Wednsday, 15 minutes prior to closing for the weekend time and you've already made plans, will tell you , "oh, and we need you to work tomorrow."
Maybe I'm questioning his judgement on supervisory but I do have that right. I worked in corrections in a facility where 85% of the population will die there, not because of illness but it's because of the fact that they've committed some sickening crimes and because of that, they'll never see freedom's sunlight.
Now, you can see where I question his supervisory skills being that mine could have cost my life at any given minute.
It's very easy to be a supervisor and inform people as to how the mission will be for the next couple of days. Why do I have to feel guilty? Why can't he just tell me what's going on rather than me sitting here waiting for a phone call from him to tell me to take my days off, per his schedule?
Yeah, most of you guys are asleep by now and you won't be online till later, when it's already been said and done but, go ahead and put your input in on my dilemma. Any voice of you guys, would be greatly accepted and reviewed and appreciated by me.:)
