View Full Version : Led Zeppelin in Beastie Boys songs
I noticed that in more than a couple of BB songs that they implement parts of Led Zeppelin songs into their own. For example, in Time To Get Ill the songs has a part where the riff from the Zeppelin song Custard Pie is played multiple times. The drumming part to Rhymin & Stealin is also taken from the Zeppelin song When the Leavy Breaks. I just found it interesting to see the Boys be Zeppelin fans.

mike's reference to jimmy page in the new style should also be noted.

Don't forget Year and a Day using the sped up drum break from When the levee breaks.

I previously hoped that a return to the 'old-school' sound would have equated to them sampling 'Nobody's Fault But Mine' or 'Out on the Tiles' or some shit. No such luck.
You can thank Bonham for the 'Pass the Mic' beat, in a roundabout way. In a lot of those LTI interviews, MIke D always said Led Zeppelin were one of his 'interests'.
