mr.p was definitely there, and is still a bit traumatized I think!
It was quite some birth, I tell you. A far cry from the nice, groovy, candles-and-whale-music-water-birth-with-puffs-of-gas and-air I'd hoped for. I'll spare you the gory details, but I'll just throw the words "screaming for drugs", "seventeen hours", "failed epidural" and "forceps" out there and let y'all make up the rest of the story.
Anyway - I'm tired; we only just got home from the hospital a few hours ago and it's time to feed yet again....

it may seem like she weighs alot but she might be tiny when she gets older.
I weighed 9lbs 8oz when I was born and the most I ever weighed till I was 21 was 155 lbs at 5'8".
Glad to hear the good news, have yourself a beer. You deserve it(y)

over 9 pounds! sheesh! does she have hair?
Loads. She doesn't look like a newborn. On the way home from the hospital, we stopped at a shop and the woman at the counter said "oh let me guess, four weeks?" And I laughed and said "More like, three days; we're just been discharged from the hospital." She didn't believe me until I pulled up my sleeve and showed her the plastic band.
She's a very, very good baby. Not big on fussing and crying, enjoys long stretches of sleep and staring off into space contemplatively.

Yes just one little eensy weensy photo of the bebe, please!!
Anyway, congrats along with what everyone else said. That is quite the beautiful name....is this the end of the BBMB Baby season? I guess we shall find out...
i weighed over 10 lbs when i was born, and now i'm a skinny bastard. i'm 6'2" and weigh 160 but i don't look any heavier than say 135 or so. people are always surprised when i tell them. i don't know where the weight is hiding, quite honestly...maybe it's my massive.....well anyway, congratulations ms peachy! glad it went well (or ended well, anyway)

holy shit ms.peachy. i read the other thread first and i cringed when i read how your labor went. "they" claim you'll forget the pain; that's bullshit. i remember vividly when the epidural failed during my first pregnancy and then the one that worked wore off and i had to have yet another. worst part of that? the anesthesiologist was fucking hot and here i am all pregnant and looking unavailable. the second baby was 3 weeks premature and by the time i convinced the kids' father that i was really in labor it was too late to have an epidural. by the time they got any drugs in me at all, i had given birth. :(
neither one of them involved 20 hours though. you should get an award.

Oh, I'm so happy to hear the great baby news! That's a beautiful name for baby Peachy. You are going to be such a marvelous mum.
My friend had her baby a few days ago -- during the epidural because the guy who was giving it was very late in coming. It was her 3rd baby but she said it was the most horrific pain yet. At least her baby came fast (her husband is playing up that part of the process in his mass emails).
