I'm not sure if it was total bullshit. The one essay question was "Why was an absolutist monarchy unable to take care of their financial problems?" and I talked about the salt tax collectors being murdered and Louis XIV spent way too much money on his mistresses, wars, and palaces. It doesn't matter if they're absolutist and have total say in government, because if they have bad administration, they're fucked.:eek:

That's why you hire smart people to do the work for you when it comes to admin. Except for the love of Pete, don't hire people from the church to use as administration. The Middle Ages serve as an example of how that fails miserably.
