so ghostface gets praise from corny white kids to kill your mother gangsters for being a dope lyricist, one of the dopest ever.. we can throw MF Doom into the mix as well...

here is what i dont get. they are dope lyricist but the beastie boys are weak when it comes to lyrics??????? EVERYONE when giving the beasties props brings up how they are weak lyrically but are dope with beats, or it's their crazy antics and old school vibe thats makes them great.. or some other bullshit.

ghostface and mf doom are ok. they are nowhere near as good as everyone tries to make them out to be. I used to fall into the category of saying the beasties are weak lyrically and doom is dope but, i came to realize that isnt true. If someone were to say that ghostface and doom are corny and wack, i could see where they're coming from and could agree to a certain extent. their lyrics are ok, nothing great there. if they werent strange at times then no one would like them.


now on 50 cent.. he is better than anyone out there right now,, whether indie or mainstream no one is better than 50... this isnt one of those trying to criticize the current state of hip-hop statements, this is just real talk.

I disagree. IMO Doom is one of the best, if not THE best at the moment. almost everything he does is classic. some people just dont get it (no offense).

50 Couldn't rap a verse like Nutmeg the way Ghost can.

50 will never write a verse as good as the first verse on Nutmeg. Period.

All of 50s rhymes put together aren't touching that shit.

This is old news, my man. The Beasties are nowhere near MC's like MF Doom or Ghostface in the lyrical department. But being a good MC involves much more than lyrics, they're only a part of the recipe. And the Beasties have the other ingrediants. If they didn't, you wouldn't be listening to them after 20 years.

when it comes down to it, i prefer groups, instead of single MCs. that's not saying that i don't like solo artists, i just prefer groups. there's more energy, and the way they make it all fit together is sick.
