Always thought this album was slept on in many circles. I think the rock version is awesome. Does anybody here agree?
Yes, Fly or Die was shithouse. Let's just remember how good this one was.
My favourites are Lapdance, Run to the Sun and Rock Star.

Yeah, that album was pretty wicked. I didn't know there's two versions? Sounds like I have the "rock" version or something...

I've got both, and I've gotta say the non-rock version sounds pretty empty to me.

If you're want every version of this album & have a 5.1 system, make sure to pick this up before they stop making it:
In Search Of.... (http://www.dts.com/entertainment/catalogue/music.php?upc=724381152195) in 5.1 surround on dvd-audio.*
It also includes three bonus videos & onscreen lyrics.
Last year at the Surround Music Awards it won the award for most adventurous surround mix. BTW: real surround mixes like this sound waaaaay better than what most of those DualDiscs have and those buttons labeled "hall" or "rock concert", etc on a receiver.
Pro reviewers seem to be too snooty to review music like this, but members of a couple audio/music forums said the surround mix is really good & fits the music.
Some places sell it for 20 bucks (no it isn't cheap - for some reason EMI got a little greedy with these. Most of the dvd-audios I've bought were only $15-$18 at Best Buy).
Because of the iPod, MP3s and (IMO) companies like Bose telling us cheesy little plastic cubes with 2" paper cones are the shit, surround formats like dvd-audio & sacd have been pretty much adandoned because hardly anyone buys real audio systems anymore to play them on. :(
Sorry for the rant - one of my major hobbies is audio gear.
That's the end of my thread crap.:o

A stereo system that puts the band in your room, though it won't impress the "latest thing" type of people: 12" Cerwin-Vega speakers (http://cerwinvega.com/products/homeaudiovideo/homeaudiovideo.html) + Onkyo stereo receiver (http://www.us.onkyo.com/model.cfm?m=TX-8511&class=Receiver&p=i) + your dvd player, MP3 player or computer. These aren't small or cute but they ARE made for playing music realistically.Together the speakers & receiver cost about $600 and will very probably last for about 15-20 years.
* this has a DTS track on it for regular dvd players, so make sure your player has its DTS digital output option enabled & your receiver has the "DTS" logo - otherwise you won't hear anything. FYI: the high resolution dvd-audio signals, sometimes called MLP, will only come out of a dvd-audio player's analog outputs.

The original album was fucking fantastic. I thought the rock version put the emphasis on the wrong things...
