Aight so i was just wondering the real story behind Paul's Botique. Is it a real place in NYC and does it still exist? And if i call this number what are the chances I really can talk to Janice? Has anyone done it before?

Nope, nobody has ever called that number. Don't call it either. They say if you dial those numbers, you and the phone you are using will be cursed with Dain Bramage for the rest of your natural born life.

I love this thread

and his name is Jeb :)

* Pauls Boutique is as far as I know is a clothing from the Uk... There is at least one place on 5th ave where you can find this badass shirt that says "Paul's Boutique" on the back of it... Problem to me is that it's a $200 crew cut shirt... It's against my principals to buy a $200 crew cut shirt... It better be one awesome shirt..
But you know 718 is an area code for NYC so for all I know it's a number to a real place called Pauls Boutique.. Dunno..

cool I guess there are a few options for pb... I wanted that crew shirt though seriously.. I'd have bought it for $100 but $200 is unreasonable for the material + labor.

I swore I wouldn't hijack every PB-related thread, but this time I couldn't resist...

I was in NY yesterday and the place I had to go happened to be right around the corner from Paul's Boutique -- that is, the cafe that is located in the former Lee's Sportswear, on the cover of the album. It was the first time I'd seen it -- it's tiny, but it looks pretty cool and I've heard the food is good. Didn't have time to stop unfortunately. But if you stand and look from across Ludlow Street, a lot of what's on the cover appears more or less the same.

I also didn't have time to walk past 59 Chrystie Street, which is just a few blocks away and evidently much closer than I'd realized.

The Paul's Boutique corner is Ludlow and Rivington, on the Lower East Side.

The first time I went to New York City, I made a special trip there. I recall that there was a big glass window on the little Paul's Boutique cafe and everybody watched me with amusement as I jumped up and down. I almost got run over by a cab trying to find the right angle to take my 360 photos. The cab driver leaned out the window and said, I swear, "The Beasties are long gone, honey!"
