It bugs the crap out of me that people who have lived enough and seen enough to castigate an entire gender can't seem to heed their own warnings, thinking maybe the poison will be different this time.

I have a friend who does this complaining thing. She will go to one friend, pour out her Guy Story, then move to the next friend and do the same thing. She does this until she gets to the end of the line wrt her friends and then she starts all over again, this time layering things with the various interpretations of her other friends. By the time she's finished, she's completely turned around (confused and further doubting herself) and also by then, none of us (her friends) really just want to be free of it all. It's annoying and tiresome and childish.

I have a male friend who does the same thing--just not with his romances but rather with just about every quasi-major decision that crosses his doorstep. He jumps from friend to friend, lays it all out to each one, and then does a compare and contrast with all of the various opinions and by the time he finishes a few rounds of that, he's completely confused and usually has a headache, which he complains about.

well by the time women hit 29/30 or there abouts..they generally start to do this (assuming they have normal or good self esteem and such).You start to figure out that guys who don't stick around, just aren't that into you and you move on...assuming you actually beleive you deserve better.
