Well there's a few good films you could watch for this shit. The one I would most recommend is Thicker Than Water starring Fat Joe and Mack 10, not the best of films but shows nicely how you can start up dealing, do it right, and get big-time. There's also a couple of things I've learnt from dealers that I'm friends with (although one of them did get raided the other day- facing 5 years). Anyway, here's my wisdom:

The most useful thing to remember is don't take any risks- the Law of Entrapment is a godsend for all dealers. I'm not sure if they have it in NZ but they do here. If you suspect someone of being undercover po-po then just come out and ask them, if they say no then they aren't allowed to use any of the evidence they have gathered on your case in court.

Also, listen out when you make phone calls, if you hear a quiet click and then a whirr just before you get connected, change your phone line. Or just don't talk about business on that line, cuz you've been tapped.

Apart from that, just follow Biggie's commandments. They are pretty much the best advice you can get, with a dope beat. What more could you ask for? (y)

padster, do not rely on that information. if that were the case, why would they even bother having undercover officers? what would be the point and what would get accomplished if they had to fess up? i wouldn't doubt if cops were the ones that started this myth -- it would certainly get them a lot more arrests if everyone believed this.

i get at least one jail letter a week where the client tells me about how their case is going to be dropped because the cop didn't admit he was a cop. i laugh every time, and then when i visit the person (usually a hooker or a first time crack dealer), they get angry when i tell them cops are allowed to lie, and their case isn't getting dropped.

all my clients hide the dope in their mouth. so, if you start dealing, that's the place to hide it. learn to talk with it under your tongue so a cop can't see it when he's talking to you.
