How do they get past metal detectors? (http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/05/26/house.shots/index.html) :(

what a complete lack of information

well, there's really not too much written about it. At this point, I don't even think they're sure what it was. If it was in a garage it could be faulty equipment or maybe an automobile with bad exhaust and people assumed it was gunshots.

Who knows, they'll probably have more about it later.

looks like the president's goons need to do some snooping

just like the anthrax attacks on the democrat offices, is this a possible distraction?

let's see....Lay's conviction, bush's admittal to failure in Iraq, Rove on the chopping block

time to plant some bugs

ok, maybe I'm paranoid

On these shores, "capital" means "upper case."

Bob

"capital" refers to the city. for example, "hartford is the capital of connecticut".

"capitol" refers to the building. for instance, "i got an internship at the capitol building".

that's what i remember from third grade, anyway.

it's an easy mistake to make. i'd probably screw it up if i didn't live in connecticut. nobody cares about connecticut. and rightly so, it's pretty boring here. unless you're in the insurance industry. then this is the place to be. however, if you are in the insurance industry, you're probably pretty boring in the first place, so that doesn't count.

Hartford CT = insurance. God, yes.

Insurance = boredom. God, yes.

I was just there last weekend.

Amazing the security and lines for security at the Air & Space museum yet you can walk into the National Gallery with just a visual inspection by a barney-fife-like guard.

First it was knitting needles and nail files. Now I guess I'll have to leave my air hammer at home. Fuck.

Real shots were fired when some loony busted into the capitol building in 1998.

http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/1998/07/27/time/capitol.killings.html

My sister was interning there at the time and I was at a summer camp in Wisconsin. I didn't have a phone. I had to wait for like 5 days to hear that she was alright.

And you didn't try to contact me? You fag.
For serious.

But yeah, my friend said they were on lockdown or something at her work for the afternoon. And then it turned out it was construction or something.
