so a friend of mine told me about a job doing 911 dispatch which Im slightly sort of considering. I guess it pays okay, and considering I currently do emergency dispatch for the utility company it may be easier to get in because that kind of stuff doesnt really stress me out and I remain well composed even when the person on the other end is freaking out.


Anyone have any experience in this and if so how is it? I live in a fairly large city and I would imagine you occasionally get kind of grim phone calls...I dunno.

the shifts I am not sure about but whatever. I dont know, its all theoretical at this point anyway. It might be interesting, but I am sure a good portion of calls is also paranoid old ladies calling to say the kids next door look like they're involved in wrong doings and could an officer stop by and tell them to move along.

I dont see why that would be an issue. You just couldnt use names and stuff. Sort of like how doctors could discuss things they have experienced in medical practice but they cant say who or when or any specifics as that would violate their code of ethics.

Would you have to go through some medical training? Don't those 911 cats have to help with the basics until help arrives?

I think you would hear some pretty grim things. Especially when kids call.

I did certified nursing assistant training in high school but never persued a career in it or took the test because I didnt want to wipe ass all day. The basic medical stuff like CPR I have done.


I dunno I doubt i will do it anyway just tossing ideas out there. Who likes porn?!
