I am definitely not a fan of today's rap or hip hop because it sucks. Just not my cup of tea.

I would consider myself a fan of old school rap...Run DMC, LL, Fat Boys, PE, Doug E., Slick Rick. But I'm only passionate about the Beasties.

now i get it, i do not like the new hip hop stuff that most of the new rappers do. it just sounds funny!

i use to like today's rap but then i discovered these fellas called the beastie boys:cool: and i fell in love with their music and then i started checking out other old skool music and i loved that much better than the new stuff i'd hear on MTV.

I remember picking up a run dmc:cool: greatest hits cd & i loved it then i got a public enemy:cool: cd and i got XM radio and i love listening to the ryhme old skool station

but i remember when i was younger like 6//7 i used to like the pop stuff but my brother would listen to hip hop and he would blast it loud in the house and i started liking it too and ditched the pop.

doesn't apply to me, i love hip hop, but for some it's probably because they just like songs like sabotage, you know what i mean, hard rock like that.. :cool:

or it has nothing to do with music, as much as it is, their uncontrollable hotness ;)

I second Laver's comment!

I also feel strongly that todays rap is to commercial. Artists make songs based on what will sell, not what they really like to do. I feel that the beasties have always done what they wanted to do and you either like it or you dont. That's the main reason there music still sounds "brand new for you"

I remember watching this show about eminems second album and he said he had it finished but his management wanted a radio hit. Which he hated doing. Which ended up being "the real slim shady".

Its more about money now than what you really want to do.
