The following message is from a friend of mine..........

any ideas anyone?

does anyone know of a reliable patch for the PC version of iTunes that allows me to bring my iPod to other people's computers and freely share music back and forth? Something that takes away the blocks that Mac puts on everthing?

I hear WinAmp is good, but is that free, if I want to be ripping stuff into its library and stuff?

Also, does anyone know if there is a patch so I can use a Firewire cable on the 60GB Video iPod?

thanks for any help.

Winamp is both good and free. While I do not own an é-pod, and thus cannot comment on that, I still heartily recommend downloading winamp.

god damn you're quick with the quote before I have chance to edit!

xmms I meant to say - http://www.xmms.org/

It's done everything I've ever asked it and more. And since all plugins will be free and open sourced. It's gonna probably do the job you want.

As for know exactly if it will do the job I dunno. I just think open sourced programs should be advertised more :)

edit: seems it can only ben used on unix systems systems, so maybe not

use winamp.
