Nuts--almonds in particular. They don't go stale easily and they're healthy providing that you get quality raw ones (don't get the roasted/salted types). Just dole them out in servings so that you're mindful of the calories.

Granola, raisins, figs store well. Mind the servings.

Fruit. Every Monday, I bring several pieces to my office and put them in a bowl on my desk and then I work through the bowl as the week progresses. It's like having a still life on my desk :) (it's a bit of decoration especially as summer approaches and the fruit is more abundant and gorgeous).

Best thing, though, is to find a thing that you like, buy it in semi-bulk, and then make up little packs for yourself. Bring one of those packs in each day. I chop up veggies a couple of times a week and then bring a snack bag of them to work each day. I've done that for years and years--it's just a routine to me to prepare them (usually Saturdays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays). Same with hummus...I sometimes buy the Tribe pre-packaged tiny tins, but mostly, I'll make my own and bring it in in small containers and eat that with a tomato for lunch. Maybe a quarter section of avacado in the mid-afternoon with some nuts in the morning; cheese and fruit and veggies somewhere in there and that is usually more than enough to hold me through the day.

I LOVE to eat carrots like this (http://www.vanderbilt.edu/wellnesscenter/carrots.jpg)--carrots with the greens still attached. There's just something about the look of them sticking out of my fruit bowl at work. So inviting and it's beautiful as well. Plus, I feel like Bugs Bunny when I have one like that. :D

(y) (y) (y)Oooh, sunflower seeds are one of those things that'll kill me and they're buried in a lot of stuff. I do like the idea of the pumpkin seeds and dried cranberries. Great combination. Now I'm hungry.
