OK GO!

On a random note, I just realized that Mike rapped the first verse in Boomin' Granny. How that never occured to me is beyond me.

Why Namaste or Lighten Up? because he talked a little bit on them?

It's obvious it's either Year and a Day or Stand Together.

no because it asked for our favorite, and right now, that's my favorite. perhaps you should 'lighten up'? :o

year and a day is always good too, though. i love that song.

and i don't know, just to hear him hit those kinda-high notes.

and actually, any of them, just to hear only his voice. thank you.

True, there isn't any rapping on them, but for the sake of completion, I thought they were necessary to add. I was reluctant to add them, but I did so anyway.

How so? MCA is clearly the only one rapping on the song. If, perhaps, you mean other people could be playing instruments in the background, then you may be right, but I'm mostly referring to his vocals in songs, when it's just him. Not who was responsible for any of the background music.

And I also voted for The Update. I like the background music when the chorus starts, and it has enjoyable thought-provoking lyrics.

A Year And A Day - hands down -

The best quote:

...I'm fishin' for a line inside my brain,
I'm lookin' out at the world through my window pane,
Everything has many colors, 'cause the glass is stained,
Everything has changed but remains the same,
So once again, with the mirror raised,
And I see my self as clear as day...

A Year And A Day.

It is by far the most well-written Beastie Boys song, in terms of meaning, flow, and rhyme scheme.

You'd love the part in the Paul's book where it talks about how Yauch took the Dust's instrumental, opened every channel in the mix up, and locked himself away for a day working on it.

But I do have to say, the lyrics are just on some stoner shit, not too deep. But very deep for the B-Boys I guess.

It's a tie for me between A Year and a Day and Bodhisattva Vow. I chose the former because I've already spoken a lot here about the latter. :o

I voted A Year and a day.
I must admit that I hate Flowing Prose. It is one of few songs I skip on their records.

Stand Together is one of my favourite Beastie songs, period. "Can't hold back/ I've got to let goooooo!" Come on, who doesn't love that song?

"A Year And A Day", no question.

MCA kills it on "A Year And A Day". He KILLS IT.

"A Year And A Day" is so awesome, it could bring a tear to your eye.

I think that the best MCA's bass' solo is in Groove Holmes (I always find a bass in the pointed funny!) ...so I don't vote...

Please dont kill me for saying this.

The first few times i listened to pauls boutique i skipped "a year and a day".

I didnt think it sounded like anything on the album (it really doesnt)

I think you could take that song and put it on check your head or ill communication and it wouldnt sound out of place.

Which is very very rare to say about any song.

That's how special it is(y)
