Time to use the Constitution to start limiting some rights by gum! I hope the tack on that its illegal to burn the flag too.

This will backfire on them. This is the Karl Rove playbook and it has been played already. People just aren't that dumb, even though it may seem so.
It is all a big waste of time, the proposal to change the Constitution has absolutely NO chance of passing. They are just hoping to get their diconcerted base out to vote.
The records do not match the rhetoric and they know this.

I think it's the most important issue facing our country for sure and I hope that our federal government spends all their time on this until it's solved.

it's just a way for them to divide the political scene in this country, and get everyone's attention away from all the corruption that permeates the republican party. fuck them.

I had two gay friends stay with me for a week a few weeks ago (they got kicked out of the place they had been staying because the Catholics there didn't want them to stay any longer and refused to give them a reason, though I can guess why), and they're doing an internship to lobby for gay marriage. They went to Rick Santorum's office and argued with his secretary. They asked why he was so hell-bent against gays shacking up when there were more pressing issues like higher education that he was ignoring. His secretary was very rude, and made some off-handed comment about how he was planning on backing legislation for higher education. My friends then shot back that he's never taken an active interest and actually SHOT DOWN legislation regarding college funding, and the woman was like "We don't have to deal with this. You have to leave now." And escorted him out of their building.
But seriously. Who cares about education? FAGS ARE ON THE LOOSE! Why, if you're not careful, you might be sodomized TONIGHT!
