there's nothing wrong with Rock n' Roll Circus. Jagger is awesome in it. The Who are pretty good too.

the reason rock and roll circus' release was delayed by like 30 years was cause mick and the boys weren't happy with their performance at all. brian jones was a total wreck and overall the band just sounded sloppy.
the who on the other hand sounded virgin tight, and totally stole the show.
i totally didn't the "the" infront of "who". i thought it was a question, not a statement. (n) that ruins everything.
The Who.... mmm nah. i still stand by my statement with Acca.

The Stones played what...three songs? They were okay at best. The Who played one and blew all the other performers away. Any many think The Who's performance was why it took so long for R&RC to be released.

I like The Who, I've been a fan of theirs ever since they were the Hillbilly Bugger Boys, but this is the Rolling Stones we're talking about.

For me, it would be between The Who, The Kinks, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, The Rolling Stones and INXS (shut the fuck up about what they've become and respect their work in the 80s). Of course I'm sure alot of people would disagree. I think in terms of a competition, AC/DC would win, not saying they are the best band, they are just the definition of hard rock. While all the others could be considered pop to an extent.

this is like in elementary school, when kids would be playing with little dinosaur toys and everyone would argue if a t-rex fought a stegausaurus, or a triceratops versus a pterodactyl...
they're all fossils.
it makes me sad that the 'best' rock'n roll music has been dead for 30+ years.

there's no argument here either. the triceritops is fucking invincible. scientific fact.
Feh - none of this makes sense anyways. If we were really having a true battle of the bands, then no one would know any of the bands and the voting would be equal. Being unfamiliar with the songs etc. - I bet Iggy Pop would make a clean sweep, and I've never even seen him in concert.

With the right selection of material, I'm thinking Prince and the New Power Generation might kick everyone's asses.

I'm sorry but The Jimi Hendrix Experience may put up a good fight with Led Zep and the Who holding their own

Jimi Hendrix's band if he plays a respectable solo and not a boring 20 minute Wa Wa one would win because that guys got amazing talent and charisma that pretty much anyone would be able to see from the moon, and from 90s onward maybe Smashing pumpkins might get to the semi or quarter finals. Arcade Fire is one modern band that might get a long way, some of their songs are huge and they have like 10 people on stage all banging away on instuments going crazy and singing at the top of their voices...yeah actually I'll just go with Arcade Fire

Jimi's automatically out because he couldn't sing for shit.
Sorry -- but the world's greatest band must have no weak links.
I'd also submit The Band on their better nights, when they really rocked.

Since we're mentioning dinosaurs, I'm sure T. Rex would put up a good fight.

Actually, new evidence shows that T-Rex's were primarily scavengers. It would have been difficult for them to hunt smaller and faster animals when they were so huge and bulky.

That's great, except um... I was mentioning T. Rex the band (as in Marc Bolan, responsible for the song "Bang A Gong (Get It On)"), not the actual dinosaur. :D

Don't lie. You just feel stupid for saying the T-Rex is badass, when you now know he's not.
