It's finally up on YouTube... Tell me what you think...
its more of an editing project... I had a bunch of old 16mm footage that I had shot in 2000 and hadnt learned Final Cut yet...
in 2003, I edited it together into this piece I entitled "L'absurdite de la vie"
(The Absurdity Of Life), along with some Zeppelin and some original music I made...
the still shot at the end was taken in 1994...

any questions, comments, or feedback would be appreciated...
enjoy!

That must've been fun to shoot.
It looks okay for what it is. I liked most almost all of the editing rhythms. The beginning could've been a bit shorter.
You actually built up some tension there at the pier -- is he going to jump? I'm not sure about the dissolve at that point. It makes sense in theory -- makes a LOT of sense, in theory -- but I'm not sure it actually works.
Nice job.

cheers.. thanks for the feedback.. it was alot of fun indeed... the footage with the guy by himself was done months after I shot the group of friends at the park... they never were meant to go together, so the challenge was making the story flow... some of it is also up for interpretation..
is he going to jump? that is the question I wanted the audience to ask...
whose grave is he visiting? I kind of put a post 9/11 spin on it with the shot of the towers...
it was a collection of footage from different mediums that I did my best to turn into a story of a man and his memories...

I know this is BF...but the grave visit and the scene following of him drinking on the sidewalk reminded me of A Day In The Life of NH. :) And the group of friends piece had a Holy Snappers vibe.
Nice Job!
