that's pretty soon after the last one...although I didn't think Guero was that great, perhaps he's diluting what could be fantastic albums with tracks that need a bit of work.
zOMG! it's beck!!

I think it's best if the Beastie Boys just stick to touring.

Damn, sure pays to come to the board today... wow, Beck's amazing. This has got to be more stuff from pre-guero preparation. I mean, the guy's been touring almost non-stop since Guero dropped. Hasn't he?
Oh yeah, good point bionic, take note Adam, Adam and Mike.
I'm geeked. Another Nigel Godrich album. Let's hope that it follows the Beck "upbeat/downbeat" album progression and we get a soulful gem. Times like this I wish my sn wasn't Beck and I could say things here without everyone going "he's not really beck lol."

cool, maybe Becks 34 year old Scientologist ass will talk about "the vegetable man with the vegetable van" again and the joy of being a father.
Fuck outta here with that bullshit.

no, just touring. TT5B was a disaster. one great lead-off single and then nothing.

Great news....been wanting some more Beck after hearing Guero. Honestly....before hearing Guero, I didn't think much of Beck. I mean, I've heard all his past albums, but nothing stood out, aside for a handful of songs. I look forward to the new material.

So they make one album you're not fond of and now you've written them off for good? A tad premature, no?

Guero wasn't his best album (in my opinion that honor goes to Mellow Gold or Sea Change), but it definately has its place in his catalogue. Good stuff.
I can't help but wonder whether we are going to have another "Odelay/Mutations situation", though. Most of Mutations songs were recorded for Odelay, but Beck didn't feel that they meshed with that album, so he put them on a whole new record.
Either way, Beck doesn't make bad music, and all you kids should be excited.

yeah aman, they all have places in the catalog and represent different sides/incarnations of Beck. I like it all, though obviously have my favorites.

I thought that Beck had a deal with the record company that he would record as much as he wanted, let them release what they wanted, and he was free to issue anything they didn't want independently -- because he's so prolific or something. I guess he didn't want to get into a fight like Prince used to have with Warners.
Is this true? Am I just making this up? I swear I remember reading this a long time ago.

I saw Beck a couple of weeks ago and he played about 6 new songs, so these must be off this album. It all is making sense now...

touring across the country my assThe Beasties would have been close to a four-hour drive from us, jabumbo, with my one friend who has lead foot. It's hard for him not to do 90 on the beltway. He offered to drive me to the BB show last year and then wait outside with the parents. :D :D

cool, maybe Becks 34 year old Scientologist ass will talk about "the vegetable man with the vegetable van" again and the joy of being a father. When he was on SNL earlier in the season (or last year?) he had his baby on at the end (when the piano music plays) and damn, that's Beck's head on a tiny little baby beck body.

Stereopathic Soul Manure?
:D
Soul Manure is a very unusual album. When I first bought it, I had high expectations, and I was very disappointed. OK, more than that. I hated it. But I kinda forced myself to listen to it more, and more, telling myself I'd get my money's out of it. And I eventually started seeing it for what it is, and its not so bad. Just remember its coming from a very young and experimental Beck, and it lacks the polish of Guero, with good reason.

so you are all about singles? the other tracks that artists make on their albums are usually better than the bullshit that they play on the radio over and over. some one must have pissed in your cheerios because you simply aren't making any sense here.

I saw him a couple weeks ago also, and the only song I heard that may or may not be new is "Clap Hands". I'm not sure if this is on a single or an EP of his, so correct me if I'm wrong anyone. Who knows, maybe it'll be on the new album. And a track titled "1000 BPM", which he rapped in a bear costume. Ill.
