I was in this esthetics seminar at a conference this weekend with my mom and the lady doing the demonstration was from england. my mom asked about where this acid-type thing in anti-aging products was derived from now, because it used to come from rooster's combs...you know, the red floppy bit.

anyway, the lady was british right and she said, "well, it used to come from cock's combs" and these ladies in the front were like, "omg, where?", and she repeated, "cock's combs", and they were all, "omg, heee hee LOL, did she say cock?"

and I was like, good christ, give me a break.

Did you have fun in Vagas? Or are you still there?

I don't think you understand, Sarky. You see, "cock" can often be misconstrued for the word "penis."

Now is it funny?

you know, in spanish, the word for the cock's comb is also a slightly dirty word. and when i was little, i used to say it around my mom to piss her off.

I wish when they would talk about the Duke lacrosse thing they would say "spagoogled" rather than "ejaculated"

when i was doing a film conference last year we had loads of delegates from around the world, including america, descend on glasgow as our film office was hosting it. i was trying to arrange a time with one dude from feckin utah or somewhere to come for drinks at 18:30. i said "half past six" and he's like "eh?" "wtf?" etc etc. "HALF PAST SIX, YA DUMBASS! in the foyer! meet you THERE!" and it took me the best part of a minute to realise americans must not say half past six, or a quarter past four, or quarter to eight or whatever. is this true? i'm thinking it may be just him!

some americans dont say it, but if they dont get it, then the peoples are dumbasses.

I don't hear people saying "half past" that often, but "quarter after" and "quarter til" are pretty common.

After midnight I am lucky if I can spell 'I' the right way, most of my spelling errors are actually typing errors, I don't know how to type well, and I am not taking keyboarding until next semester.
