It's been a while... hope you all are well.

I'm so happy the bboys radio show is back, I had almost given up on it. As I listen today I'm reading up on alternative cancer treatments, in re: my Dad who has been sent home to die after being diagnosed just a few days ago (this all happened very fast.. sort of). The stuff I'm reading (mostly about natural treatments and radical diet changes) is actually pretty encouraging. Time is of the essence though. So that's what's up around here. I'm in Cincinnati for the time being.

I'll probably be cutting out pretty soon to go shopping for organic foods with my mom but I'm recording the show.

How have you all been?

*takes notes*

I've actuallty been looking into floral essences for cat behavior issues (in Feb I rescued a kitten off the subway who turns out to be half siamese - oy! she's a handful. A very cute, sweet, affectionate handful, but a handful nonetheless). Got a custom formula made up for her but haven't been able start on it with everything else going on.

Any essences in particular you recommend (for my Dad)?

flor-essence is actually an essiac (made by rene caisse) tea that's a detoxifier. look for it in a health food store. between you and me, and not the FDA, it shrinks tumors and stops cancer cell growth.

A ha, I see. I definitely will. Thanks a million!! (y)

All this stuff I'm learning about the way traditional medicine treats cancer (basically with the goal of shrinking tumors but not addressing the disease itself or improving the overall system the way alternative treatments do) is VERY enlightening. I mean, I'm not surprised. Basically it's not in the interest of traditional medicine to actually cure cancer because of all the money made from the disease. Things like vitamin C have been proven (by Nobel Prize winning scientists) to be very effective - but phamaceutical companies can't patent vitamin C so guess what? The studies and information are suppressed. (n)

Hi! I'm fine. I have been doing a lot of political stuff. It's a pain but I love it. I guess it's time to gear up and the big push starts in a few hours.

I've been on the road a bunch. I'm actually going to NYC soon (for fun not politics), and I keep thinking I'm going to Washington DC and I've been looking at the wrong maps and books.

I think my age is finally getting to me. Either that, or it's the heat.

ahh, the good ol' FDA. yeah. look into a company by Dr. Matthias Rath (http://www4.dr-rath-foundation.org/)...i really respect that man and what he's doing. he has his own supplement line too, but he pours all his profits straight back into the foundation. his supplements are pretty widely available, but they're a direct-only thing so it's not something you can get everywhere. most bigger chains have them, i've found. anyway, his books tell a lot about the FDA/pharamaceutical companies' business with disease. it's really sickening (no pun intended). he actually bases his treatments on high doses of C (i've heard he takes 10, 15 g daily !), and i have heard tons of success stories. he has cancer products as well, too. and if you call the company, their doctors will work with your doctors to figure out a good treatment.

whatever you end up doing, i wish you and your pops the best of luck. :)

I can't believe I read the part about diet changes and missed the cancer part. It was just me me me -- typical. :o

I'm so sorry about your dad. My dad died of prostate cancer that moved to his brain. My mom still wishes we had tried to bring him home to die. We were so out of it at the end that we didn't ask the right questions about that. You will always be glad that you were there, even if you feel that there's nothing you can do to help.

When people ask if there's anything they can do to help, say "yes" and let them bring you lunch or something. I'm so thankful for the friends who insisted on stopping by and sitting with me, even though at the time I told them I didn't want anyone around.

So I wrote a superlong post yesterday but the internet ate it and I didn't have time to try again. Anyway..

Documad, no worries. If I'm in NYC when you are we should get together. My schedule is up in the air at this point..

cosmo, thanks for that additional info. Definitely another thing to check out. Dr. Rath sounds like a good soul.

Beth, ha, keep those bad boys (and girls) in line.

nice to hear from all of you (y)

I'd write more but Mom just made a dr appt for Dad (bad coughing, she thinks maybe pneumonia) so we're running out the door stat.

well, your handsewn books are awesome, and i understand the amount of work put into them and how hard it is. i did some classes on it last year, and it was such a struggle to just do basic stuff.
