I have a biography that says it was released in November 1986, but hey, it could be inaccurate. *shrugs*

Actually, I've seen multiple sources say it was released as early as March '86 and as late as February '87. Someone set the record straight... please?

I would say that early to mid october would probably be correct. I kinda remember it coinciding with something in high school.

I've searched around for the exact date, too...but have never come with an exact date. I think it may have had somewhat of a staggered release during the Fall of 86 though.

Actually the original date was in June 24th, 2159. It was so dope that they had to send it back it time. The boys decided to come with, and I am greatful!

I remember it being released at about the same time of the first 2Live Crew album.

Actually, FFYR was released like a year before the album came out. Atleast I know the video was released a year in advance.

cool.

I remember reading in the skills to pay the bills book, yauch saying something like :

"HOld it now hit it was such a great single for us, so that made us want to get back to the studio and finish the record"

Thats crazy that the FFYR video was released one year prior to the album coming out. I dont think that would ever be done today in music.

Of course def jam was just starting then. I dont think they knew what the fuck they were doing most of the time.

I'm pretty sure the "Fight For Your Right" video came out in 1986. Licensed To Ill came out in either October or November 1986.

The official release date was somewhere in November 86 but of course advance copies always end up ciruculating months ahead of its date.
