this should be interesting. (y) I hope. he hasn't done too much lately that has impressed me, but this is his own project so we'll see how he does with it.

I love John too :)
But I have been disappointed in some of his role choices as well. That rom-com crap is just no, no, no, no.

yeah I think that's where I was introduced to him too.(nattygan) :) swoon
did anyone see the movie he did with his father? I think his dad directed it actually. it might have been for showtime or HBO or something. it was called the Jackbull. it's about ranchers in the 1800s having thier land stolen from them and fighting back. it was pretty good.
Grosse pointe Blank is still my all time fav of his.

I like him as well--not for his looks although he's okay in that department, but I've tended to enjoy a lot of the movies he's been in and the roles he's played in them.
BTW, I didn't know that he was so tall. I would have guessed him to be 5'10 tops.

As a "nerd" he was still really, really good looking.
Anyways, he should stop doing lame romantic comedies.

I couldn't agree more. I had to sit through Serendipity in the theater and I just can't bring myself to see Must Love Dogs. ugh. I was kinda stoked about the ice harvest cause it's dark comedy..but it really didn't deliver.

"It appears that countless women born between the years of 1965 and 1978 are in love with John Cusack. I cannot fathom how he isnt the number-one box-office star in America, because every straight girl I know would sell her soul to share a milkshake with that motherfucker. For upwardly-mobile wopmen in their twenties and thirties, John Cusack is the neo-Elvis.But here's what none of these upwardly-mobile women seem to realize: The dont love John Cusack. They love Lloyd Dobler."

Is he gonna be in the rain in this movie?

I can agree with this statement. Lloyd was pretty damn sweet. Personaly I fell in love with Martin Blank.
how many "heartthrobs" gain thier spot on your pedestal not simply because of the way they look, but because of the character they played. who, what role and why?

John Cusack is definitely one of the best actors out there. He doesn't always pick the best roles, but dammit, I actually watched "Serendipity" just because of him. :o

Don't be ridiculous. I'm in love with Lane Meyer.

It's been so long since I liked one of his movies that I can't remember why I liked him in the first place. I would have never dreamed that he would become so unimportant as an actor. He was always the good actor in mediocre movies so I was sure he would emerge and get better roles in better movies. He might have been better off if he had quit taking leading man roles because his romantic comedies are the worst. Who would have thought that Ben Stiller would be a bigger romantic lead?
How great was The Grifters though?

-Chuck KlostermanI have never seen Say Anything and I still have somewhat of a thing for John Cusak. It's funny because I've never put him on any of my lists, you know? ...but there is something that is appealing about him. His component features are fine and all but maybe it's that all together, he doesn't absolutely look like a GQ cover but he's still attractive. And he doesn't seem to be heady about himself at all. That's appealing. Guys who are hot and who know it or who have superiority problems: (n). JC maybe is all right because he's kind of like someone that we all know or knew and kind of had a crush on but maybe it never went anywhere.

I thought Identity and Jackbull were good. I'm pretty sure he directed both of those.
