woo hoo! my other roommate's boyfriend works at an auction house and he scored a shit ton of Kinks stuff and gave it to her as a present. It's a bunch of radio personality Mancow's stuff. also his cassette tape collection.

anyway, the kinks are my favorite band and now I have access to all the singles on 45, a rarieties album (which I'm listening to right now), and bunches and bunches of pictures and autographed thingies.

too bad it's not really mine. :(

however, I may steal the issue of Trouser Press from 1978. she'll never notice! it's got ray davies on the cover and articles about peter gabriel, dead boys, blondie, etc. it's very interesting to read about how critics were already calling out poseur punks in 1978 too, in the record reviews and whatnot. they referred to some guys as "teds" ha ha. I'm stealing that.

there's a typed out transcript of his interview with ray davies from 2001 and he says stuff like, "I'm the world's biggest kinks fan". 5 years later, all his stuff's in a box in my living room. heh.

yeah, I hate that guy. I used to listen to him on the radio on my way to work sometimes for fun so I could argue with him, but it became too much. he's just so infuriatingly stupid.
