I've said it before,
I'll say it again.
The finale to Six Feet Under is probably the best series finale ever. I'm really wondering what will beat that.
Discuss?

Discuss?SPOILERS BELOW MAYBE.
There was a thread about the finale right after it aired but yes, I agree. By far, the way they handled it was perfect, fitting and it was the most appropriate series finale I think I've ever seen. I loved that the finale started with a birth whereas all regular-season episodes started with a death.
I read some stuff about the finale afterwards, where people were theorizing about whether/not those events actually transpired in that way or whether those scenes were the imaginings of the sister (I forget her name) who maybe died. I forget the exacts, but people over on the HBO site were piecing together bits about other dead people (like Nate and someone else) and the way they appeared to people, and how some of the things they did corresponded with some things that she did or saw. I'm not being clear, I know, but that's because my memory of the details are terribly vague. Just that there were questions about how much of it was real and how much of it was symbolic.
When I saw it, I took it at face value--that those events actually did happen exactly as portrayed. Either way, it was a gorgeous ending.

Did you read the obituaries on the HBO website?

Did you read the obituaries on the HBO website?I did. It was cool that they did that. (And those obits would sort of disprove what the people on the HBO boards were positing, I think.)
I remember watching Six Feet Under when it premiered and feeling like I could take it or leave it so I left it. A few years later, though, close to the end of the series, I watched a few episodes and got hooked.
the x-files finale, lol1z!1
