View Full Version : Smooth move, Roethlisberger!!!!!
Apparently this morning around 11:30 am, Steelers' QB Ben Roethlisberger while riding his Harley Davidson, hit a car and put his head through the car windshield. It's kind of ironic, considering that after Kellan Winslow's injury, he said that he doesn't like wearing a helmet, but he's very cautious blah, blah, blah. The severity of his injuries haven't been disclosed yet.
WAY TO GO, DIPSHIT!!

I wonder the ratio of on-field vs. off-field injuries that cost players their careers.
Good question. Maybe even expand it to on-field injury to off-field injury and miscellaneous crimes. That might make it more comparable.

If I made 7 million a year, I'd drive a tow truck. They always show up after an accident, never in one.
And for the people who have time today, do not hyperlink a picture of a tow truck in an accident. I'm just saying, thats all.

This might be in bad taste, but I find it pretty funny that on espn.com, next to the "Roethlisberger in Motorcycle Accident" headline is an ad for Yamaha motorcycles.

I don't know why your ass is laughing. He lost control of the bike becuase he saw Peyton's teeth in his rear view mirror.
Yeah, the teeth that are attached to that Cro-Magnon melon, or is it Cro-Manning??
Pattycake, you, of all people, are not eligible to shittalk until the first week of pre-season play. Keep it up with the Shittsburgh, though. That's never gonna get played out.......ever.

I just like drawing out what you have to say...It's very entertaining. Yes, from now on I'll shut it until the preseason. Then, it's on like Donkey Kong.
Then, it's on like Donkey Kong.
I've heard this phrase countless times and it pisses me off more every time I hear it. It's doubtful, but can you please enlighten me as to what the fuck it means?

Its because during the 80s, most arcades, donut shops, convience stores, etc. did not unplug or turn off their Donkey Kong machines because kids thought it was bad luck to play a Donkey Kong game that was "fresh" everymorning. Therefore, its on like Donkey Kong.

This accident actually happened one street over from me. The accident happened near the 10th street bridge...i live close to 9th street bridge.
I understand Ben being a "real" man and not wearing a helmet, but he's gotta realize that he is a business man.
If he gets fucked up and cant play, not only does he lose money (from his contract, to commercials and other endorsements) the organization also loses money they have invested in him!
This team is FUCKED! if charlie batch has to start at QB this year!

I understand Ben being a "real" man and not wearing a helmet, but he's gotta realize that he is a business man. I don't understand that rationale myself. Sort of akin to when some guys think it makes them look weak to ask for directions. If I see a guy on a motorcycle (or a bike) and he's not wearing a helmet, I tend to think that he's probably assy.

This is pretty surreal. Apparently this must have happened right after he finished a phone interview on sports station here. I didn't see any replay on their website, if one pops up, I'll post it.
I'm glad he's alive.Someone sent email to me yesterday and enumerated his injuries: 9" gash to the back of the head, torn sinus cavity, injuries to both knees. So far, I've read that his injuries were to his face and skull and that nothing else was affected. Is that true? (My friend, in that email, also said that he lost most of his teeth. God, I hated to even TYPE that, it's just so awfully painful sounding. Crikey.)
I heard that people were holding a vigil for him outside the hospital yesterday. WTF?

the people on the NFL channel were talking in quiet tones like he had died or something. With that and the same three "Best of 2005" clips they play every freaking commercial, I wanted to wear a helmet.

I guess he got released from the hospital and can continue going on being the biggest asshole this side of Kordell Stewart in Pittsburgh. I can't stand the fucking guy.
Yeah, he's a total dick. He only helped us win a Super Bowl that's been decades in the making while being the youngest to ever do so. Unless, you're talkin personally, like he constantly gives you wedgies while you guys hang out and play pick up hoops, then maybe.

Two things:
1) I don't like the Steelers.
2) Anyone who would actually get on a crotch rocket without a helmet and also just happens to be starting quarterback of the Super Bowl winning Pittsburgh Steelers is an asshole.

He's a kid. Kid's do stupid shit. Especially kids with buttloads of money. It's not like the organization didn't know he had a bike and what happened to Kellan Winslow last year. If anyone's at fault, it's the org for not MAKING him wear a helmet to protect their investment, especially after a Super Bowl victory. .

I think they should allow wide receivers and cornerbacks to ride motorcycles while playing the game. With helmets of course. Catch a pass while on a motorcycle? Yea, try that athletes.
