Based on a half-assed geniocracy routine, deciding systematically with an arbitrary threshold based on education, these are who I think are the only candidates who would be satisfactory candidates for 2008, and I wouldn't consider anyone else. When I think about my own biases I satisfactorily agree, although I wouldn't want most of these Republicans as much:

In order for each type, completely disregarding popularity:

Republicans - I list them first since I'm most concerned about these
1. Condeleeza Rice - I bet she'd sell out her Republican base in a second
2. Newt Gingrich - respected Congressman
3. Mitt Romney - solved Massachusset's financial crisis, works for free
4. Rudy Giuliani - he runs New York
5. Bill Frist - immoral, so I don't really agree with this one
6. Saint Michael Jesus the Archangel! - God is now officially a member of the Republican party

and Democrats

1. Ben Nelson - I said I liked him a long time ago, if you remember
1. Wesley Clark - OK you hate him
1. Russ Fiengold - OK you love him,
1. Janet Napolitano - this woman has two Ph.Ds
5. Hillary Clinton
6. Tom Vilsack
7. Dennis Kucinich
8. Brian Scweitzer
9. Randolph Crow! - ambiguous about whether he's Jesus, so now Jesus is unofficially a member of the Democrat party (everyone always said God was Republican and Jesus Democrat)

Other, in this order

Mary Ruwart Libertarian - I could care less about any of these candidates at the moment
George Phillies Libertarian
Winona LaDuke Green
Jim Gilchrist Constitution
Michael Peroutka Constitution

Independent - none

Warner - Richardson.

Warner was the governor of VA, moderate, and did some GREAT things for the state. Plus, the past pattern of winning democrats have been southern governors.

Richardson because he borders swing states and could pull in the hispanic vote, who have typically been swing voters.

I'm looking to win in 2008, because the only people that can clear this shithole out now are competent democrats. They seem to be competent, and I'll be researching them further before I give them my full endorsement.

Hillary Clinton/Oprah Winfrey in 2008!

Warner's completely centrist approach would work well in the election, but how can he get the nomination with it?

Although the media is giving him quite a lot of good press, a sign that he might have chance.

He has very little education - actually his parents had none and so for his family he got a lot. I wonder.

Clinton/Winfrey wouldn't work!

Mark Warner seems to be pretty smart at any rate.

No Biden?

If he's intelligent, I'll put him up, but he only has bachelor's degrees.

I think you have to remember that political opinion can be swayed heavily by the media, so intelligence is very critical to getting elected in the undercover mess. What if the Republican candidate starts using intelligent arguments for once against Joe Biden's down-to-earth intuitions? Or what if there is a tough game to manipulate everyone undercover that he can't win?

You have to play all your cards right - if Joe Biden rails against corporations too much, and fights for unions too much, they might start heavily manipulating people and it could backfire. You have to remember, I think, that things are worse than ever. All this war has made corporations monetarily vulnerable and pressured into supporting the Republican.

Also, Joe Biden doesn't seem to appeal to everyone as strongly as the 3 Democrats I listed in first place, an important skill.

I haven't heard Joe Biden say anything complex, and there are complex issues.

All just my opinion like it is just my list.

Biden always comes off as smarmy dick.

I hate him. He smacks of a 'politician' in the worst way.

evan bayh is a possibility for the democrats. he was the super popular 2 term governor of indiana (very conservative state), and was elected to the u.s. senate with 2/3 of the vote.

of course the downside about being a super popular democrat from a republican state is that you're usually a little more....conservative. :sigh:

romney is an empty suit. he looks pretty, has a clean record, and he seems like a nice guy, but if you listen to him speak for a couple of minutes you realize he doesn't have anything to say. imo the best he could hope for is a decent showing in the primaries, and maybe some southern governor chooses him as their running mate to balance the ticket.

4. Rudy Giuliani - he runs New York

5. Hillary Clinton

It will be those two. I'll put money on it.

7. Dennis Kucinich
