I was blind, now I can see
You made a believer, out of me
I was blind, now I can see
You made a believer, out of me

Im movin' on up now
Gettin out of the darkness
My light shines on
My light shines on
My light shines on

I was lost, now Im found
I believe in you, Ive got no bounds
I was lost, now Im found
I believe in you, I got no bounds

Im movin on up now
Gettin out of the darkness
My light shines on
My light shines on
My light shines on

Im getting outta darkness
My light shines on
Im getting outta darkness
My light shines on

Sounds like you have no taste in music and are following my posts attempting to start a fight with me due to a previous petty argument.

Not really you got all quiet and I thought you left. Damn.
As for the music they ripped half of those lyrics from "Amazing Grace" No respect from me.

Cakes use eggs, they're still better than the original product.

You lose.

I beg to differ, eggs are only an enhancement to cakes, and stealing is stealing no matter what the reason.

I find it to be borderline blasphemous to start a lyrics thread titled "Movin' on Up" and NOT have it be about The Jeffersons.

Who are the Jeffersons ?

primal scream are heavy. i'm watching them @ leeds2006.

Move on up, though by a different artist from a different genre, is also a classic song.

THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT

A police car and a screaming siren -
A pnuematic drill and ripped up concrete -
A baby waiting and stray dog howling -
The screech of brakes and lamplights blinking -

that's entertainment.

A smash of glass and the rumble of boots -
An electric train and a ripped up 'phone booth -
Paint splattered walls and the cry of a tomcat -
Lights going out and a kick in the balls -

that's entertainment.

Days of speed and slow time Mondays -
Pissing down with rain on a boring Wednesday -
Watching the news and not eating your tea -
A freezing cold flat and damp on the walls -

that's entertainment.

Waking up at 6 a.m. on a cool warm morning -
Opening the windows and breathing in petrol -
An amateur band rehearsing in a nearby yard -
Watching the tele and thinking about your holidays -

that's entertainment.

Waking up from bad dreams and smoking cigarettes -
Cuddling a warm girl and smelling stale perfume -
A hot summers' day and sticky black tarmac -
Feeding ducks in the park and wishing you were faraway -

that's entertainment.

Two lovers kissing amongst the scream of midnight -
Two lovers missing the tranquility of solitude -
Getting a cab and travelling on buses -
Reading the grafitti about slashed seat affairs -

that's entertainment

P, in all seriousness mate the Jam ruled and stil do. Maybe it's an age thing, fuck knows, but those lyrics can bring a tear to my eyes sometimes because in a stupid sort of way they just sum up being working class and English in the late 70's and early 80's. Poor as a fucking church mouse but i had my solice in my older brother and sisters record collections

(fuck me, them violins are loud :D )

the music was solid though, rick butler great drummer, bruce foxton fucking fantastic bass player, it's only as i've gotten older i've realised how important his playing was in the jam sound, and weller? fair do's he's right up his own arse BUT imho he's written a shit load of good songs and he's a great guitarist

and yes mate, i'm 34

btw you're remix of alive is dope, credit where credit is due (y)

haha. thanks. i'll be honest. i have only heard like a couple of songs from most of their albums, it's just not my thing. i can understand since you grew up and related with it. it's just unlikely i will be turned onto them.
