how much do you get charged in your current place of residence for a pint, versus, say, your home town? i can get a pint of worthington's, which is sort of like a poor man's guiness, for £1.20 just up the road.. same with carling. liverpool's nastiest hovel has stella for £1.40 a pint. it's watered down camel piss with a bit of stale artois at the bottom though. in the place i grew up all beers are upwards of £2.20 in most places.

London is fucking extortionate. You can expect to pay at least £2.70 for a pint of Foster's, and Stella and other premium lagers are often touching £3 (£2.90 or similar). It really does suck balls.
Up in Manchester it's usually about £2 a pint. (y)

ahh fosters (y) £2.70 is outrageous: i just paid £2.19 in the wetherspoons in town during the game, that's ridiculous for liverpool.

Now bars are different, for a long neck 16oz. it will run about $2.00 and most mixed drinks are from $3.50-$7.00. So it is cheaper to drink in England and Austrialia than the Northern Great Lake State.

jesus christ. don't buy that shit. especially not for that price.
here and there, i can get a 12 pack of stella for $13.99. at the bar i adore, stella draft is around $4.50 per glass. but with the right bartender, you don't get charged for all of them. during happy hour, i can get a bucket of stellas (5) for $10. on friday at one bar, drinks are 3 for 1, but the only decent beer is heineken.

Back home in Wigan a pint of Guinness cost £2, and it's usually a-ok. In Wolvo the cheapest pint is at the union and it's still £2.20!
And it tastes like watery water!

Here in Munich its from 2.5 to 4 €s (0.5 l). In "divier" and seedier places, you can get it cheaper. The price of a "Maß" (1.0 l) at the Oktoberfest is a major political issue and once determined, the major newspaper item of the day. I can't remember last years price exactly but it went up to about 9 €, I think.

Jugs of Carlton Draught here can be anywhere from $8.00-12.00 Australian or between $6.00-9.00 US or £3.20-4.80 GB. In each jug there is 1125 ml of beer, or 4.5 pots. Or 2.25 pints.
Guinness is about $6 a pint.
Slabs here are pretty cheap, draught, vb or other domestics are about $30, stella for $45, heineken for $40, corona for $48.

A pint of normal local lager here in a pub is about 6 swiss francs (4$), a pint of Guinnes or other foreign beer is around 8 sf (6$). Lager beer in the supermarkets is quite cheap, about 10 sf (7$) for 10x33cl bottles.
I worked at the local beer festival two weeks ago, the last day I bought a box of 24 bottles of Anchor's Liberty Ale for 40$, best money I've spent on beer this year !! (y)

It's $5 a pint where I go. For everything. I guess I could go check out other places, but then I'd have to put up with gross beer, lame music, and obnoxious people. (n)
