Where are you coming from?
The first time I came to NY it was for the teachings in 2003 also held at the beacon theater. * I hope it wasn't my attempt to give a gift that inspired his mentioning of the "no gifts" policy. I found a loop hole but I'm not sure I can pull it off this year.
Now I live in Jersey and work in NYC so the cost will be less this year.

In the Zurich classes, there was one hallway that the DL tended to exit through on most days. The first day, I saw him up close with just a handful of people. By the last day, word had circulated and there were many more people waiting there. Several of them held out gifts for him. He didn't take any of the gifts, but he did walk through slowly, stopping to acknowledge some people that he recognized. He always seems to have a smile on his face. :)
