I got this new job and the way we get paid is from commissions..(ranging from $200-1,000)

The cool thing is that the company sets the appointments for you and also calls back to confirm the meeting. The appointments are also only set within a 25 mile radius of where you live. (which is better than the insurance business where you have to pay for your leads, cold call and all that shit). We also have a team leader we can call during the appointment for help and we would still get the commissions if they make the sell instead of you.

I went through the training class Friday. I was the youngest guy there. Everyone else was in there late 30s and above and a few of them already had their own business. So that aspect comforts me a little bit.

My company leases/sells debit card, credit card, electroninc check and gift card systems, they also reprogram systems to update the old ones. So I also know every business needs those and they wouldnt have made an appointment in the first place if they werent interested.

I really think this is a great opportunity! Compared to my last sales job where i went door to door for verizon...where i only closed about 3-7 houses out of 100 in a day.

It seems like there are more positives than negatives. I guess i wont feel comfortable until I start and start kicking some ass out there!

Some one please reassure me that I will be fine!:)

I just KNOW FOR SURE that Edmonton would honor a stanley cup championship more than north carolina.

I'd even say that Ric Flair is more popular in carolina than the hurricanes.

Along with:

College Basketball
Nascar
NFL
college football

good luck - you are in the advantage with your age in a sales environment

just stay positive and upbeat and as long as you are selling solid shit you believe in you will do fine

i got trained last week on my new sales job as well. (y)

just remember to get your prospects to say 'yes' to you a lot as you speak to them, make sense?

good god, that sounds like a nightmare. I hate selling stuff. I sold a god damn $140 piece of glass instead of a $20 piece of glass today though because of my slickness. it's also pretty good glass though. if you're rich, why the hell not! these are your memories! frozen in time behind a museum quality UV protective anti-reflective, yes, I said, anti-reflective, not just non-glare, mind you. You can't even tell it's there!

show me the money.
