I got this new job and the way we get paid is from commissions..(ranging from $200-1,000)
The cool thing is that the company sets the appointments for you and also calls back to confirm the meeting. The appointments are also only set within a 25 mile radius of where you live. (which is better than the insurance business where you have to pay for your leads, cold call and all that shit). We also have a team leader we can call during the appointment for help and we would still get the commissions if they make the sell instead of you.
I went through the training class Friday. I was the youngest guy there. Everyone else was in there late 30s and above and a few of them already had their own business. So that aspect comforts me a little bit.
My company leases/sells debit card, credit card, electroninc check and gift card systems, they also reprogram systems to update the old ones. So I also know every business needs those and they wouldnt have made an appointment in the first place if they werent interested.
I really think this is a great opportunity! Compared to my last sales job where i went door to door for verizon...where i only closed about 3-7 houses out of 100 in a day.
It seems like there are more positives than negatives. I guess i wont feel comfortable until I start and start kicking some ass out there!
Some one please reassure me that I will be fine!:)
