I popped out onto the back porch for a smoke, and saw that cops have the alley taped off. I saw 4 unmarked police cars, 3 marked cars, two cops just standing in the alley, then a white-haired cop dude with a white shirt and no bullet proof vest on got out of a police car and chatted with the alley cops. then 4 other cops in pairs came strolling down the alley carrying brief case-like things. then two undercover cops came out of the alley (one of whom was wearing a sox jersey). then a couple more cops came around the corner with flashlights. and I saw more flashlights shining in people's backyards.

what the fuck happened? I wish I had supersonic hearing.

the puerto rican pride parade was yesterday, people have been having big parties all around, and there are puerto rican flags being waved on street corners, wrapped around car hoods. lots of honking. way less firecrackers in this neighborhood than my old one though.

what are the briefcases for?

yeah, I still don't know what happened. I think I heard, "body", but I could just be thinking. I definitely heard, "hey, you wanna go take a peek?" said from one cop to another, and then one of them walked down the alley out of sight.

can I call the police and find out what happened? shouldn't there be some sort of crime bulletin on the internet? :(
