ACK! sometimes you have to play a sort of game, even if you don't want to. in my position, I need to tread lightly, as I don't want to piss anybody off/hurt anybody's feelings, but I do want to get my way.
so, Nathan invited me to see him play another show last night. but I didn't go. partly because I was really tired and sweaty, and I was watching a terrific episode of Hitchcock Presents, but also because I felt like couldn't just make things so easy for him. also, I didn't want to see his girlfriend. I can't bear it anymore.
this morning I looked at my phone and there was a text message from my friend at 2 a.m. that said, "Nathan asked me where you were and then said, 'I invited her, I guess she can't make every show.' and then he gave me a pouty face.". HA!
he should be pouting!
anyway, I told cort (who's been out of town), and she said, "well, good, now you have the upper hand." and then the text message girl was over earlier to pick up a chair and said, "it's good that you didn't go, because now he's stuck wondering and thinking about you." but what good is all that? it might be good, it might be bad. can't I just say to him, "hey, I like you, please date me instead"? because it seems like it might work.
because: he was telling my text message friend last week that we have "such good chemistry" and she said, "BREAK UP WITH YOUR GIRLFRIEND!" ha ha (she was wasted) and he was like, "I've been thinking about it, but it's really hard." GAHHHHHH!
this is really turning into a saga. but luckily since my ex-boyfriend told me about his, christ, love pentagon, I feel infinitely more innocent than before. especially since my ex is like one of the nicest people in the world and I was completely shocked by his choices and behavior. (ha, I wanna say what happened so bad, but I promised to keep it a secret, even on the internet! :( )

If I invited you somewhere and you didn't show, I'd just assume you didn't like me and forget about you. upper-hand my arse

It is pretty sad that you are waiting after a dude who got a girlfriend ....
I mean a guy with a girl = do not cross the line, taken , ok next one!
If a girl was rooming around my bf, i would smashed her head against a brick wall..but that is me , i might have an anger problem.

I also hate playing games, but you are right in sometimes it just happens. It's so fucking dumb, and it usually always involves that kind of stuff - not going to a show, not calling back, etc. etc.
Even now I don't really call my guy because I don't want the same thing to happen as last time, when I was the one calling him all the time. It seems to be working though, and it's not a game anymore, we just call each other whenever.
But the games are le stupid, and he seems to be playing right into it. "I've been thinking about it, but it's really hard."??? Whatever. That's pussified.
P.S. TELL US THE PENTAGON SECRET.

Yeah, I would say smashing someone's head against a brick wall would constitute "anger problems." Just a little though.
And Sarky, that's some crap that he wants to have his cake and eat it too. I mean granted, if you have cake, you're gonna want to eat it and that's actually a very shitty saying. I guess my point is it isn't about the girl. It isn't? Well it is, but try and follow me here...it isn't.
Worst advice ever. :(

way back when, in 2004, i accidentally could have looked like i was someone i'm really not. unbeknownst to me, the good dr had a girlfriend. he wasn't on the board much, and i was just getting to know him and was trying to convince him to visit sometime. anyway, they ended up breaking up for whatever reason (nothing to do with me) and then he and i started talking one night and i didn't think he'd really want someone like me, etc., etc. and then we did start dating. and she was asking him something and he said he was coming to florida to see me, and she freaked out and thought i'd ruined everything.
which would make me quite powerful if a chick from the internet, living in another country, can break apart a local relationship which is much easier to maintain.

Bef: ^Yeah, I hear that. So I never heard the details with you and Bobby. How long did you date before he moved here? Was it hard for him to become legal here and get a job? I think it's a little bit harder now because of immigration laws being put into place. But I don't know.

yes, but I didn't actually agree to go. I said, "maybe, I'll think about it". and hopped on my bicycle. because I can't just let someone try to secretly date me while having a girlfriend. if he didn't have a girlfriend, he could have just called me and asked me where I was.

I CAN'T REVEAL THE SECRET! but it has to do with cheating on cheaters and lips with stitches and catching people in bed together, and france!

ohmygod I love you.
And now I'm gonna geek out a little cause I just found out that Michael Showalter is coming here in like a month to do standup, and it's like two days after my bday, AND a few days after Wet Hot is the midnight movie at the local theater.
And he's coming with Eugene Mirman, who I learned about from Sarky! So look it all comes fill circle.

I know dude, I'm hoping there's some kind of after party I can get them to come to, or whatever. But it's on a Tuesday :/
Eugene offered people to get put on the guest list if they put up posters, on his myspace. So Eugene himself is sending me the posters.

also david wain is very nice. but he won't be there. just sayin. he's nice, if you ever see him. he will chat and smile. michael ian black is also nice, but he's more used to being recognized because of Ed, so he's a little more fakey celebrity nice than real nice. he also dances!

I found it oddly erotic during the first episode of Stella when the other two went out on the balcony and David Wain was just like "What are we doing?" and grabbed the real estate agent and totally just started hardcore making out.

yeah, my fake boyfriend actually looks a lot like david wain, but not as bald and not as round-faced. so I am sometimes sexually attracted to him. david wain I mean. or maybe it goes both ways. but not anymore, since I don't talk to my fake boyfriend anymore. my friend said, "did you fake break up?" and I said, "uh, I guess" and he said, "then you're still together. ha ha, get it?!"
womp womp.

diana:
we were together for almost a year before he moved here. we filled out his paperwork at the end of january. then the government wanted additional info, which set back his application. we thought he'd be getting his work permit any day now, but instead, they sent him an appointment time for the end of august. i don't know whether he will get his work permit before the appointment, but i hope so, because he's going insane and i'm broke.
one day we'll be able to look back and say "remember how broke we were?" unfortunately, i can't see when that day will be.

also, I forgot. if I would have left to go to the show at the time I was originally planning, it would have been right around the time when the murder happened. so I'm glad I was here and not on my bike witnessing a murder.

people need to realise that watching Hitchcock presents is important stuff(y) ;)
If I had had a date last night I would have said 'NO' because I'm working. I love nightshift...time goes so fast and all that
