i have been listening to a lot of anthrax lately. and air-drumming even with the double kick bass drum, and air-other-instrument-ing, and biting my lip and nodding my head aggressively.
yes, this is the thread.

That was Tony Hawk Pro Skater III. I like em a lot, Belly of the Beast, Got the time, Antisocial etc. Isn't Scott Ian in some filthy TV band now with the guy from Skid Row and other hairies? Go check out S.O.D.!(y)
Stormtroopers Of Death. Good stuff.
Zorra and everyone else..you need to check out Among the Living if you haven't already. I'd say its their best album by far.
It must be Anthrax month because I pulled out my Anthrax tapes (yes tapes) last month and have been playing them doing the same thing...except air guitaring. We should start an Air Instrument band. We need a bassist though. That would be so lame, that it would stay lame.
They were great until they got rid of Joey Belladooooonnnnnaaaaaaaaa (must be sung with a high King Diamondesque screech).
Luckily they have him back. And luckily I saw them play a few months back and it was probably the one of the best shows I have ever seen. It may have something to do with me waiting to see them since 1989 and finally coming around to it in 2006.
NOT!

i cheated - with the actual cheat codes. my favourite one was the zero gravity effect. you could do like a million tricks and get a super high score. perfect balance was also good :o
i'm a filthy person :(

!
(!) caught in a mosh is my favourite song at the moment
I remember when I was a kid, I'd put my Anthrax IM THE MAN tape in my story telling ALF doll and that that was the coolest thing ever. I had a friend who peed his pants in my living room from laughing so hard.(y)
everytime i read something about Anthrax - it says shit like "the kings of speed metal"
WHAT!? i haven't heard one song of theres that comes close to being faster than a Slayer song.
What Doesn't Die is an alright song i guess.

You say our records are offensive
(You're a douche, You're a douche)
Our messages ain't right
You say "We're gonna label records
So our kids can grow up right"
You fucking whores (Let them decide)
That's all you are
shit, fuck, satan, death, sex drugs, rape
These seven words you're trying to take
shit, fuck, Satan, death, sex, drugs, rape
Right or wrong it's our choice to make
America the beautiful, Land of the free
Don't change the words to land of Hypocrisy- one of my favorite jams. Startin' up a posse.
I can, without a doubt, say that there isn't a single Anthrax album that I dislike. Even with the loss of Joey Belladooooooooooonna they're considered to be one of my favroite bands.
I can't pick a favorite because it's either Persistance of Time or Among the living.

Technically, way back when, you wouldn't classify either as Speed Metal. That was mostly weird shit like the great KAT. Beethoven on Speed... But hey, we've progressed beyond that now, haven't we? *waits for objections...*

The guy with the bizarre beard is articulate on cable music shows. When they need someone to discuss rock history, he's always on.
I tried to look up his name by doing a google of anthrax and then hitting images. I suggest that no one else does that. I may not sleep tonight.

you mean Scott Ian? (http://www.dispatch.com/2006/01/22/20060122-Pc-D1-0400.jpg).
one of my role models for guitar.

that would be "bring the noise".
Another classic rap-rock jam that they did was "I'm the man". Both songs are on Attack of the killer b's. Excellent c.d.

Yes, he is an articulate fellow. :)
Thanks. I tried to find his name but the googling scared the shit out of me.

no problem. He's had that beard ever since I've been into Anthrax so it just rang a bell when you mentioned the beard.
Thank god I've been listening to them for 20 years and knew his name so I could type that in the google search rather than Anthrax.
*shudders*
I could only imagine.

When I saw anthrax, Scott came out with a guitar that I believe Dimebag gave him and they did a cover of 'A New Level'. They were all pointing up to the sky (ceiling actually) nodding their heads like "FUCK YEAH! GIVE IT UP FOR OUR MAN DIMEBAG". It was really fucking cool. I kick myself in the ass for never seeing Pantera live.
Another classic rap-rock jam that they did was "I'm the man". Both songs are on Attack of the killer b's. Excellent c.d.
The live versions of Belly of the Beast and Keep it in the Family are two of the best live "metal" versions I have ever heard.
And the I'm the man remix was pretty good too, but can't hold a candle to the original. Now that I think about it...I am the Law and Caught In a Mosh were great live versions too. They just know how to do it up live. My wife had only heard a bit of Anthrax here and there before we went to see them. And she even said it was one of the best shows she has ever seen. You alls need to see them if you ever get a chance (original line up only of course).
