saw him open for Beck.

literally the only opening act I've ever given any kind of a shit about.

it was like soul/electronic/experimental

it was weird and awesome.

look him up.

let me know what you think. The album is more funky type of soul than electronic but very good all the same

I'm bumping this thread cuz I finally bought Multiply today, despite saying a few posts up that I was picking it up then.

Yeah, Jamie deserves the bumpage!

I've seen him live somewhere in July, and it was so funny, because most of the crowd only knew him from the song Multiply (was played big time on dutch radio) and were totally confused when he started doing his weird electronic beeps and bleeps. The middleaged men and women in the room were not amused. I was. hehe.

Really, this guy is amazing. His voice is so beautiful and many songs on Multiply have this old Soul feeling. Yet he can easily switch to sampling (his own voice!) and beatboxing and do a very convincing DJ set.
I danced my butt off. And then I nearly wept when he sang Game For Fools.
Oh Jamie lovelovelovelovelovelove!

Game For Fools is what got me into him in the first place. When he opened for Beck he came out alone and kind of wondered around like he was nervous and befuddled. Everyone sort of started ignoring him cuz he wasn't doing anything.

then, suddenly, Game For Fools kicks in and he starts singing and everyone shut the fuck up quick.

"A Little Bit More" is the jam.

Jamie was in Super Collider. Head On is a pretty listenable album in some parts. Actually, Hide In From The Day and Darn (Cold Way O Lovin') are my favorite SC songs and they're both on this album. Check it.

Multiply Additions is a remix album and should be avoided. I found it lacking.
