Me & U by Cassie..... I love the beat and instrumentals. It reminds me of the soundtrack from the aliens sega genesis game. but I hate the vocals. Anybody know where I can download instrumental?

I don't even know which local station to listen to to hear current hits--I'm not entirely sure that any are left.

The one that used to play current popular music got rreworked into a classic rock station. I went on vacation a couple of years ago and came back and expected bubble gum and got Led which is (y) but it's left me somewhat stranded otherwise.

Here they've already predicted that as this summer's pain in the ass. And it bugs me already.

Are you talking about Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie?" Its catchy but its no classic. Its been around for a while now, and its just starting to slip down the charts.

yeah, that's the one. it's not a horrible song, it is pretty catchy. i might even kinda like it if it didn't play so goddamn much. i actually am a snob that doesn't listen to the radio, but the woman across from my cubicle does, and the station just plays the same 5 songs over and over and over again. she doesn't play it very loudly or obnoxiously, so i mostly don't mind, but man, that song stands out from all the rest somehow, and it plays at least once every hour. and then she's prone to humming it fairly often when it isn't on. i want it out of my head :(

Ohhh, I barely live in Illinois. :D The current radio hits in heavy rotation is:

- Yung Joc- It's goin down
- Me And You- Cassie
- S.O.S and Unfaithful- Rihanna
- So What- Ciara
- Why You Wanna and Whatchu Know about that- T.I.
- Promiscuous- Nelly Furtado featuring Timbaland
- Gettin' Some- Shawnna
- Ain't No Other Man- Christina Auguilara
- The Mighty O- Outkast
- Hips Don't Lie- Shakira

Oh yeah and Ridin' Dirty. I only listen to the radio when I'm in the car, and it's the same shit over and over. My dad has sirius and it's cool! (y)

I don't listen to top 40 radio...which is basicaaly what most of you are describing...stations that play popular songs in heavy rotation. I do like the new nelly furtado song but I probably wouldn't if I listened to radio.

because I live where old hippies go to die, we have a pretty rocking station that calls itself "progressive rock". they play Tom Waits, Chuck Prophet, Ozmatli, John Hiatt, Taj Mahal...stuff like that.(y) and they really don't put anything into rotation. the DJ's keep everything very elcelctic and diverse.

Kiss 103.5 is a pretty popular station in Chi-town. Although it is pretty rare to hear a full beastie song, I think the engineer or station manager or somebody is a fan. During station radio spots advertising a call in contest or somthing, I frequently hear Beastie Boys playing in the background. I heard "Ch-ch-check it out" last week and "So Whatcha Want" just yesterday.

It's the same here. I live in Miami, where reggaeton and dirrty south hip-hop rule, but Y107 will sometimes have "Ch-Check It Out" playing in the background while the DJ talks about nothing or when they do the call-in contests.

I once heard "Shake Your Rump" being played on a hip-hop station early in the morning in 2004 once. That's the only time I've heard the Beastie Boys being played on a Miami hip-hop station.

I've really been getting into Radiate FM 95.3. They play whatever they want because they're a college radio station (broadcasting from Florida International University). They play obscure stuff, mainstream stuff, old school, new school, rock, rap, jazz, techno, whatever. I first heard them two weeks ago, because they played "Sure Shot". I almost told my mom to "STOP THE CAR!" because I was so shocked, I mean literally STUNNED, that I was hearing a Beastie Boys song on the radio. I was really happy hearing it. And then I called the station later to request a Beastie Boys song, and a few minutes later, they played "Ch-Check It Out"! So, I like that station now.

Oh, and sometimes while listening to Radio Disney (don't ask), I'll hear "Shake Your Rump" being played in the background while the DJs talk.

:

reggaeton is really huge here in Los Angeles too also Bay Area/West Coast rap & dirrty south has dominated the mainstream for a while now

thats what i did when i heard So What'cha Want on the radio i flipped out i started screaming at my mom in spanish when she came back and my mom's car was parked and i was in there alone and and windows rolled down and full volume and a guy even turned around and was like wtf?
